DEEP SPACE NINE: "The Bar... " - 1/08/96 - ACT FOUR 48.
39 CONTINUED: (2)
ROM
Look at it this way... If Brunt
gets rid of me, then all your
problems are solved.
(a beat)
You always said you wanted to be
an only child.
And with that, Rom EXITS.
40 CLOSE ON QUARK
As he watches his brother exit. For once, the thought
of being an only child doesn't sound that wonderful.
41 INT. QUARKS
It's after hours in Quark's. Brunt is alone in the
bar, adding up figures on a PADD.
The two Nausicaans are in the background facing each
other a couple of yards apart, playing a game. The
game consists of one of them taking a dart and flinging

in the chest, looks down at it without reacting, then
plucks it out and flings it back. The Nausicaans seem
to find this endlessly fascinating and continue their
game during the following:
Quark ENTERS and sees the Nausicaan's and Brunt.
QUARK
(to Brunt, re: the
Nausicaans)
Doesn't that hurt?
BRUNT
I'm sure it does. Most Nausicaan
games do.
(to business)
Now, speaking of pain... Did you
talk to your brother?
QUARK
We talked.
BRUNT
And?
QUARK
I need more time.
