  6.     Lenara freezes, the words cutting right through her, 
  7.     but she's just as afraid to turn and look at Dax as Dax 
  8.     is to look at her.

  10.                     LENARA 
  11.             No?

  13.                     DAX
  14.             No. Torias should've listened to 
  15.             her. The shuttle wasn't ready for 
  16.             a full impulse test... but Torias 
  17.             had to do it anyway... and he was 
  18.             wrong.
  19.                 (beat) 
  20.             And whatever part of me is still 
  21.             Torias... is very sorry... and 
  22.             wishes he'd listened to you.
  23.  
  24.     Lenara turns back and they look at each other for a 
  25.     long beat. There are jagged feelings on both sides 
  26.     that are bubbling dangerously close to the surface and 
  27.     they both know it. Lenara finally nods her thanks, not 
  28.     trusting her voice, and Dax manages a small smile in 
  29.     response. Dax finally breaks the moment.

  31.                     DAX
  32.             Well... we still have a lot of 
  33.             work to do.

  35.                     LENARA 
  36.             Right.

  38.     They both resume work. Dax tries to focus, but her 
  39.     mind is not on the work.... She finally decides to take 
  40.     some action.

  42.                     DAX
  43.             Would you be interested in dinner?
  44.                 (quickly) 
  45.             I mean I'm having dinner with some 
  46.             friends and I thought... maybe 
  47.             you'd like to... join us?
  48.  
  49.     It's a delicate dance they're doing... the minuet of 
  50.     two people trying not to risk rejection by the other, 
  51.     but both wanting to be together.

  54.             I wouldn't want to intrude on your 
  55.             friends...

  58.             It's actually... not that big a 
  59.             group... it's really just me
