  12.     Dax shakes her hand with the same serious look.

  15.                 (mock serious)
  16.             It was my pleasure, Doctor Kahn.
  17.  
  18.     Then, at the same moment, the two of them turn and look 
  19.     at the crowd -- again everyone turns away and tries to 
  20.     look like they weren't watching this whole exchange. 
  21.     Dax and Lenara share a smile of amusement and then 
  22.     Lenara walks off to join her brother. Dax feels much 
  23.     more relaxed as Bashir moves over to her.

  25.                     BASHIR
  26.             Well... that seemed to go well.
  27.  
  28.                     DAX
  29.             I never doubted it.
  30.  
  31.     She takes a sip of her champagne and moves away from 
  32.     the table, seemingly content and relaxed again. But 
  33.     once she's away from Julian, she pauses for a moment... 
  34.     no one is watching her... and she glances over at 
  35.     Lenara across the room.

  37. 11   DAX'S POV 
  38.  
  39.     Lenara is listening to Bejal talk to Sisko... after a 
  40.     beat, she seems to sense someone watching her and she 
  41.     turns her head slightly, and now looks directly at Dax.

  43. 12   NEW ANGLE
  44.  
  45.     as Dax and Lenara's eyes meet across the room, and the 
  46.     physical distance between them allows them to drop the 
  47.     light joking pretense. For a fleeting moment, they 
  48.     really see each other for the first time... and there 
  49.     is definitely something in the air between them. They 
  50.     both break the moment and look away at the same time.

  52.     Dax lets out a long breath and is about to take a sip 
  53.     from her glass of champagne... but then she sees that 
  54.     her hand is trembling.
