  7.     former home... After a long beat...

  10.             Maybe after we've got Captain
  11.             Sisko back, we should all drop by
  12.             Morn's for a drink...
  13.  
  14.     They all share a smile at the thought... except Jake, 
  15.     who's focused only on the task at hand.

  17.                     OLD JAKE (V.O.) 
  18.             I'd designed a subspace flux 
  19.             isolator...
  20.  
  21. 47   INT. DEFIANT - ENGINEERING (NOT-SO-DISTANT FUTURE)

  23.     Where Older Dax, Older Bashir and Mature Jake are 
  24.     making final adjustments on the apparatus. Dax is at 
  25.     an Engineering console and has a MUG of coffee nearby.
  26.  
  27.      The apparatus is linked to the warp drive and is 
  28.     focused on a kind of pedestal that looks like a small
  29.     transporter platform, with two transport pads that have 
  30.     waist-high railing partly encircling them...
  31.  
  32.     The Interphasic Compensator we saw in Act One has been 
  33.     incorporated into the apparatus, held between the two 
  34.     pads in a vise-like device.
  35.  
  36.     Mature Jake works with great determination... this is 
  37.     the culmination of years of work and he's bent on 
  38.     making sure it succeeds...

  40.                     OLD JAKE (V.O.) 
  41.             And we set it up in Engineering.

  44.             Are you ready over there, Dax... ?

  47.                 (sipping her coffee) 
  48.             As ready as I'll ever be, 
  49.             considering the replicators were 
  50.             just about the only things still 
  51.             working when we came aboard.
