  16.             This isn't the first time I've seen 
  17.             you rush through a meal.  You never 
  18.             take the time to savor your food.  
  19.             It seems to be a human characteristic.

  21.     Garak looks over and sees that at another table, a HUMAN is 
  22.     having lunch with an N.D. ALIEN.

  24.                     GARAK
  25.             Look over there... that Talarian 
  26.             isn't even half finished with his 
  27.             meal, but his human companion's plate 
  28.             is empty.
  29.  
  30.                     BASHIR
  31.             Maybe he and I should get together 
  32.             for dessert and leave you and the 
  33.             Talarian to wile away the afternoon.

  35.                     GARAK
  36.             It's a very interesting sociological 
  37.             trait, don't you think?  For 
  38.             generations now, humankind has had 
  39.             more than enough food... yet you all 
  40.             eat as if you were afraid someone 
  41.             was going to come along and take 
  42.             your plate away.

  44.     Bashir, who's finished his meal, eyes Garak's nearly untouched 
  45.     plate.

  48.             Garak, why don't you eat for a while 
  49.             and let me talk?

  52.                 (musing)
  53.             Fear of starvation amid plenty... it 
  54.             points to some dark secret hidden in 
  55.             the human soul... a gnawing hunger.
