  18.             about that demand for mining rights 
  19.             he made earlier?  What was that all 
  20.             about?

  23.             I wish I could be of more help... 
  24.             but without knowing the entire 
  25.             negotiating record of the talks, 
  26.             it's hard to see the larger strategy 
  27.             at work.

  29.     Winn looks out the window for a long beat.

  36.             negotiating record.  Bareil's been 
  37.             talking with Turrel for months... he 
  38.             understands him... respects him... I 
  39.             think he even likes him.

  43.             I'm afraid you may have to face the 
  44.             possibility that Bareil may not be 
  45.             able to help you much longer.

  48.             I was chosen by the Prophets to lead 
  49.             our people into a new era... I know 
  50.             that.  But I was never meant to sit 
  51.             in a room with a Cardassian and debate 
  52.             legalisms and "diplomatic nuances."

  54.     She faces Sisko directly... this is as genuine and honest as 
  55.     Winn gets.
