  4. 46   CLOSE ON B.C.

  6.     B.C. draws a homemade knife and stabs Bell.  Bell falls.
  7.  
  8.                     B.C.
  9.                 (to one of his men)
  10.             Get his card.
  11.  
  12.     As one of the ghosts begins searching Bell, B.C. spins toward 
  13.     Sisko, who is struggling with another Ghost.  But to B.C.'s 
  14.     surprise...
  15.  
  16. 47   BASHIR
  17.  
  18.     Kicks the knife out of his hands.
  19.  
  20. 48   NEW ANGLE
  21.  
  22.     As the shiv slides across the street, Sisko finishes off his 
  23.     opponent.  B.C. sees that the tide is turning against him.  
  24.     He signals his friends and B.C. and the other ghosts retreat.  
  25.     Bashir goes to help Bell, then hesitates for a beat, and 
  26.     looks up at Sisko.
  27.  
  28.                     SISKO
  29.                 (urgent)
  30.             Help him.  He wouldn't have gotten 
  31.             hurt if it wasn't for us.
  32.  
  33.     Bashir begins CPR.  But he isn't having much success.
  34.  
  35.                     BASHIR
  36.             Breathe, damn you.  Breathe.
  37.  
  38.     Bashir works hard to revive Bell, but he knows it's no use 
  39.     and eventually stops.  Bashir looks at Sisko and shakes his 
  40.     head.
  41.  
  42.                     BASHIR
  43.             He's gone.
  44.  
  45.     Sisko sees Bell's discarded food card, which the ghost dropped 
  46.     in his hasty retreat, and picks it up.  He reacts at what he 
  47.     sees.
  48.  
  49.     In the distance, we can hear the cops getting closer.
  50.  
  51.                     SISKO
  52.             Come on.  We've got to get out of 
  53.             here.
  54.  
  55.     But Bashir is still stunned by Bell's unexpected death.
