  6.     Bashir and Sisko start to leave, but one of his companions 
  7.     whispers something to the Stairway Guard, who calls after 
  8.     them.
  9.  
  10.                     STAIRWAY GUARD
  11.             Hey, wait a minute.
  12.                 (they turn back)
  13.             Maybe we can make a deal after all.
  14.  
  15. 36   INT. APARTMENT BUILDING HALLWAY - DAY #2
  16.  
  17.     Sisko and Bashir picking their way through an ill-lit hallway 
  18.     inside the tenement building.  Neither one of them is wearing 
  19.     their uniform anymore.  They're exchanged clothing with the 
  20.     stairway guards outside.
  21.  
  22.                     SISKO
  23.                 (re: the clothes)
  24.             Well at least now we look like we 
  25.             belong here.
  26.  
  27.                     BASHIR
  28.             Yeah, and we smell just as bad as 
  29.             everyone else.
  30.  
  31.     Sisko smiles at Bashir's attempt to make light of their 
  32.     situation.
  33.  
  34.                     SISKO
  35.             The stairwell must be around here 
  36.             somewhere.
  37.  
  38.     They round a corner and...
  39.  
  40. 37   NEW ANGLE
  41.  
  42.     ... and run into a homeless man (WEBB) tending to an injured 
  43.     teenage boy (DANNY).  But as soon as he catches a glimpse of 
  44.     Sisko and Bashir in the darkened hallway, Webb spins around 
  45.     and points a knife at them.
  46.  
  47.                     WEBB
  48.             Stay away from him.
  49.  
  50.                     SISKO
  51.             Whatever you say.  Just put the knife 
  52.             down.
  53.  
  54.     Webb is a man in his mid-forties.  He's a gimmie who still 
  55.     has hope that things will get better.
