  6. File Notes allows you to create and attach descriptive notes 
  7. to files within File Manager.  These notes are created and 
  8. viewed from File Manager using a new menu automatically added
  9. to File Manager.
  10.  
  11. You may include an author, subject and a lengthy comment in
  12. each note.  In addition, multiple files may be attached to a
  13. single note giving the entire group of files a description.
  14. Notes may be accessed from common open and save as dialogs.
  15. Includes a powerful search function for finding notes.

  17. INSTALLATION
  18. Run install.exe for automatic installation.  If installing
  19. from a floppy disk, from Program Manager select the File/Run
  20. command.  Enter d:\install.exe where d is the driver letter
  21. (a or b).  After the install process is complete, restart
  22. File Manager.  You will now have a new menu called 'Notes'
  23. in the menu bar.

  25. Or, to manually install File Notes, copy the files filenote.dll
  26. and filenote.hlp to a chosen directory.  Then add a line to the
  27. [Addons] section in winfile.ini which reads as follows:

  29.      File Notes=<directory>\filenote.dll

  31. where <directory> is the full path name of the directory the
  32. File Notes files were copied to.  Restart File Manager.

  35. (accessible by using the Help command in the new Notes menu).

  37. To un-install the program, simply delete the files copied above.
  38. You may also delete the line added to the winfile.ini file.

  40. PLEASE NOTE: File Notes is now compatible with Norton Desktop for
  41. Windows.  However, neither hotkeys nor the 'Note Present' status
  42. box function with Norton Desktop.  This just means all operations
  43. must be carried out through use of the Notes menu added to any
  44. NDW file manager display window.

  47. Note that this is a shareware program.  As such, you may use it on a trial
  48. basis for thirty days.  After this time, the program should be registered 
  49. if it is continued to be used.  The cost is $18.  For a disk with the
