  9. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions
  10. before using this software.

  12. Shareware Version

  14. You are hereby licensed to:  use the Shareware Version of the
  15. software for a 21 day evaluation period; make as many copies of
  16. the Shareware version of this software and documentation as you
  17. wish; give exact copies of the original Shareware version to
  18. anyone; and distribute the Shareware version of the software and
  19. documentation in its unmodified form via electronic means.  There
  20. is no charge for any of the above.

  22. You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting
  23. donations, for any such copies, however made; and from
  24. distributing the software and/or documentation with other products
  25. (commercial or otherwise) without prior written permission, with
  26. one exception:  Disk Vendors approved by the Association of
  27. Shareware Professionals are permitted to redistribute WinZip,
  28. subject to the conditions in this license, without specific
  29. written permission.

  31. Unregistered use of WinZip after the 21-day evaluation period is
  32. in violation of federal copyright laws.

  34. Evaluation and Registration

  36. This is not free software.  This license allows you to use this
  37. software for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of 21
  38. days.  If you use this software after the 21 day evaluation period
  39. a registration fee of $29 is required.  Payments must be in US
  40. dollars drawn on a US bank, and should be sent to Nico Mak, P.O.
  41. Box 919, Bristol, CT 06011- 0919.  Credit card ordering and
  42. quantity discounts are available, as described in the section
  43. Ordering Information/Order Form.  When payment is received you
  44. will be sent a registered copy of the latest version of WinZip.

  46. One registered copy of WinZip may either be used by a single
  47. person who uses the software personally on one or more computers,
  48. or installed on a single workstation used nonsimultaneously by
  49. multiple people, but not both.

  51. You may access the registered version of WinZip through a network,
  52. provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the
  53. software covering all workstations that will access the software
  54. through the network.

  56. Governing Law

  58. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of
  59. Connecticut.

  61. Disclaimer of Warranty

  63. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND
  64. WITHOUT WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OF MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY
  65. OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  In particular,
  66. there is no warranty for the optional virus scanning feature
  67. (WinZip does not scan for viruses, it simply runs external
  68. programs that claim to perform this function).  Because of the
  69. various hardware and software environments into which WinZip may
  70. be put, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS
  71. OFFERED.

  73. Good data processing procedure dictates that any program be
  74. thoroughly tested with non-critical data before relying on it.
  75. The user must assume the entire risk of using the program.  ANY
  76. LIABILITY OF THE SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT
  77. REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE.
