  4. 1. THANK YOU FOR TRYING WinRamp Lite.
  5.    First off, the folks at Vironix NA would like to thank you for taking
  6.    the time to download WinRamp Lite! We sure you will find the
  7.    application a worthwhile addition to your software collection.
  8.  
  9. 2. NB! UPGRADING FROM WINRAMP LITE 1.00b.
  10.    IF you are upgrading from WinRamp 1.00b, and wish to keep your
  11.    Dialing Directory entries, it will be neccessary to manually make
  12.    back-up copies of all *.WRD (WinRamp Directory) files, and then copy
  13.    these *.WRD files back into the installation directory. We HIGHLY
  14.    RECOMMEND that you delete the remaining Version 1.00b files including
  15.    the Windows Program Manager Group, and re-install from scratch.

  17.    The Install program will attempt to re-install the WINRAMP.FON file.
  18.    When prompted by the Install program whether to Abort, Retry or
  19.    Ignore copying WINRAMP.FON, select IGNORE.
  20.  
  21.    We sincerely apologise for these inconveniences, and assure you that
  22.    in future upgrading to new versions of WinRamp Lite will be handled
  23.    more smoothly. Unfortunately development time constraints prevented
  24.    us from completing a special custom upgrade process in time for this
  25.    release.

  27. 2. AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL DISTRIBUTION ARCHIVE.
  28.    The original distribution archives (either RMP101.ZIP or
  29.    WRAMP101.ZIP) were compressed with PkWare's PKZIP Authentification
  30.    Verification feature. If you obtained an archive without the -AV, it
  31.    is possible that some installation files could be missing. Should
  32.    your installation fail, please obtain the orginal archive. This can
  33.    be found on Compuserve in the WINSHARE AND IBMCOM forums and The
  34.    WinRamp Support BBS at 1-508-373-3336.

  36. 2. INSTALLATION NOTES.
  37.    We *highly* recommend that you run the INTALL.EXE program to assist
  38.    with the installation. The install program will take care of all the
  39.    details such as registering the WINRAMP font file with Font Manager.
  40.  
  41.    Most of the files within the RMP101.ZIP or WRAMP101.ZIP archive are
  42.    compressed to save space on your drive after installation. You can
  43.    delete these files after installation, however if you do this, we
  44.    recommend you keep the original distribution archive. The EXTRACT.EXE
  45.    utility included with the original distribution archive can be used
  46.    to decompress any distribution file when required.

  48.    IF you choose NOT to use the Installation program (we do NOT
  49.    recommend this), remember to register the file WINRAMP.FON with the
  50.    Font Manager (in Control Panel). Winramp's terminal emulations will
  51.    be severely limited if this is not done.

  53.    If the Installation fails for some reason, please be sure to check
  54.    the text file PACKING.LST to make sure that you have all the files
  55.    neccessary to run WinRamp Lite. PACKING.LST includes the addresses to
  56.    online locations where you can be sure to obtain the orginal WinRamp
  57.    Lite archive.

  59. 3. RIPSCRIP ICONS.
  60.    If you will be accessing Online Systems that support the graphical
  61.    emulation standard RIPScrip 1.x, and you do NOT yet have any RIP
  62.    Icon files on your hard-drive, you MUST run the self-extracting
  63.    archive file RIPICONS.EXE into the following directory:

  65.    <drive and WinRamp Lite directory>\RIP\ICONS
  66.  
  67.    If you already have a collection of RIP Icons files from a different
  68.    application, you may wish to rather set up the WinRamp Lite RIP
  69.    Terminal emulation to "point" to these existing icons.

  71. 4. REVISION HISTORY.
  72.    All changes and revisions have been recorded within the Online Help
  73.    file, and within the REVISION.101 text file.
