  3. WinVN version 0.80 is now available as a BETA release.
  4.  
  5. WinVN is an NNTP Newsreader for Windows 3.1, originally by Mark Riordan.
  6.  
  7. There are many changes and bugfixes from the last public version (.076c)
  8. which we hope you will enjoy.
  9.  
  10. Short List of new features:

  12. o newsrc-eating problems fixed (Yea! Yea!)
  13. o MAPI and SMTP mail support
  14. o ROT13 support for reading and posting
  15. o Print articles
  16. o optional thread-tree display
  17. o header sorting (subject, lines, author, date, thread)
  18. o NNTP XOVER support (speeds up reading significantly)
  19. o lots of little touch-ups here and there

  23. Please, take this for a test drive (if you're brave), and get back
  24. with us ('The Developers') so we can finally get a relatively bug-free

  44. This should really work with any WINSOCK version 1.1 compliant stack.

  47. about WINSOCK:  WinSock is a *standard*.  Several vendors are shipping
  48. tcp/ip stacks that contain a conforming WINSOCK.DLL library.  There is
  49. no free WinSock stack yet - but a few of the vendors are providing demo
