  12. Wincode is a Windows 3.1 program (written in Turbo Pascal for 
  13. Windows) which converts ASCII files to BINARY files (and vice 
  14. versa) through a process known as uucoding. This allows a user to
  15. transmit binary files through e-mail (or any other ascii-based 
  16. communications system) by first converting the files to ascii and
  17. then having the receiver of the files re-convert them to binary.
  18. Many NewsGroups (on the Internet) utilize this practice (it is common
  19. on UNIX-based systems). 
  20.  
  21. I wrote this program for my own needs but I am releasing it to
  22. the public as FREEWARE...yes, you don't have to pay for it...just
  23. use it. I hope others find it as useful as I do and if so, drop
  24. me a line at the address(es) in the HELP file.

  34.                - IBM compatible running DOS 3.1 or higher
  35.                - 286 or higher processor with at least 2MB memory
  36.                - Windows 3.1 running in standard or enhanced mode
  37.                - 123K of disk space (~90K for Wincode, ~33K for
  38.                  the HELP file)

  41. Running Wincode:
  42.  
  43. To run this program, copy the files WINCODE.EXE and WINCODE.HLP
  44. to a directory of your choice (I use C:\UTIL\WINCODE). Start Windows
  45. and either install WINCODE.EXE as an icon (see the WINCODE.HLP file
  46. or your Windows manuals) or use Program Manager's FILE|RUN option to
  47. run Wincode (type in the full path of WINCODE.EXE). When you have
  48. Wincode running, chose HELP|CONTENTS and read the help file for 
  49. information on running and configuring Wincode. Have Fun...
