  4. Ernest Perez, compiler of this hypertext system, received professional support
  5. in this project, from his employer, Access Information Associates, Inc.
  6.  
  7. Access Information Associates, is a Houston-based library and information
  8. management consulting company. The main office is in Houston, and there is a
  9. Dallas branch office. A.I.A. has also conducted onsite operations in other
  10. Texas cities such as Lubbock and Midland, as well as in Lafayette LA.
  11.  
  12. A.I.A. offers three types of services:
  13.   ** records management and library consulting,
  14.   ** library and information management personnel, and
  15.   ** research services
  16.  
  17. A.I.A. is founded, managed, and staffed by qualified information
  18. professionals. Thirty-plus employees bring a breadth of experience,
  19. professional expertise, and educational training which enhances our team
  20. approach to problem solving.

  22. A.I.A. clientele is primarily in the business services, energy, engineering,
  23. and legal sectors. Many of the largest engineering and energy firms have been
  24. A.I.A. clients for a number of years. Our client companies include: Conoco,
  25. Bracewell & Patterson, Arco, Exxon, Brown & Root, Core International, Unisys,
  26. University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, Mobil, Phillips Petroleum,
  27. and others.

  29. A.I.A. has built a solid record of accomplishments in such projects as:
  30. conducting needs assessment studies; preparing practical, cost-effective
  31. project recommendations; providing complete project implementation services.
  32. We have designed and developed databases, using a variety of system
  33. and software configurations. Our consultants have planned optimized workflow
  34. patterns, produced documentation, and trained client staff. We have completed
  35. facility expansions and relocations, including space planning and equipment
  36. selection. A.I.A. has consulted on library automation projects, and has
  37. completed total bibliographic database conversion projects. We have also
  38. performed contract cataloging, classification, and indexing for clients. We
  39. are also veterans of numerous records management projects, including filing
  40. systems, inventories, offsite storage planning, and retention schedule design.
