  7. Before using the kit for the first time, don't forget to do the following
  8. steps :
  9.  
  10. 1) Edit the TASKTR29.INI file (in the Windows directory) and choose the
  11.    appropriate communication port (according to you fax modem or card
  12.    setup).
  13.  
  14.    Set Port=x where x= COM1 or COM2.
  15.    Save the TASKTR29.INI file.
  16.  
  17. 2) Run the TR29 ADAPTER (NOY_TR29.EXE) in order to test your fax board 
  18.    for Class 2 compatibility (several problems were detected with some
  19.    not so Class 2-compliant fax modems).
  20.  
  21. 3) Look at the CAT611.INI file (in the Windows directory) and choose the
  22.    appropriate settings for your environment (Dialing method, Number of
  23.    attempts ...).

  26. A new printer driver called 'T611 FAX DRIVER' is installed at setup.
  27. If you want the fax driver to be your default printer, choose it into
  28. the control panel, topic : PRINTER.

  31. SendFax DLL (based on the T.611 standard API):

  34. In the directory DVP you'll find SENDFAX.DLL and SENDFAX.H files.
  35. They contain the DLL entry point that allows to send faxes from any Windows
  36. programs (provided that you can gain access to DLLs).
  37. The SENDFAX DLL was designed according to the new T.611 CCITT standard API.

  39. Read carefully the SENDFAX.H file.

  45. The following files contain the transmission reports :
  46.  
  47. MONITOR.TXT   indicates step by step what occurred in a fax transmission.
  48. SENTBOOK.LOG  reports about correct fax transmissions.
  49. FAILBOOK.LOG  reports about bad fax transmissions.
  50.  
  51. They are located in the subdirectory "WORK" of the installation path you chose at setup.
