  1.    Many distributors are now organizing CD-ROM's so that programs can be run 
  2. directly from them.  This is a boon to your hard drive space, you don't have 
  3. to have the file copied to your hard disk to run.  However, a lot of programs 
  4. will attempt to write files and end abruptly with a write-protect or similar 
  5. error.  We have adapted Phone Secretary so it CAN be run from CD-ROM.  There 
  6. are two simple adjustments you will need to do.  
  7.    1) When you run Phone Secretary, whether from the command line or batch 
  8. file you will need to specify the configuration file with a full drive:\path 
  9. on a drive to which Phone Secretary can write, for example:  
  10.       FONSEC /C:C:\FONSEC.CFG  
  11.       (see page 24 in the disk documentation)  
  12.       (see page 29 in the bound documentation)  
  13.    2) If you use a LOG file (Configuration Options 4-6), also specify a full 
  14. drive:\path on a drive on which Phone Secretary can write, for example:  
  15.       C:\PS\PHONE.LOG
  16.       (see page 06 in the disk documentation)
  17.       (see page 04 in the bound documentation)
  18.       When you press "5" the window that opens is actually wider than can be 
  19. shown.  As you type the window will automatically scroll.
