- Many distributors are now organizing CD-ROM's so that programs can be run
- directly from them. This is a boon to your hard drive space, you don't have
- to have the file copied to your hard disk to run. However, a lot of programs
- will attempt to write files and end abruptly with a write-protect or similar
- error. We have adapted Phone Secretary so it CAN be run from CD-ROM. There
- are two simple adjustments you will need to do.
- 1) When you run Phone Secretary, whether from the command line or batch
- file you will need to specify the configuration file with a full drive:\path
- on a drive to which Phone Secretary can write, for example:
- FONSEC /C:C:\FONSEC.CFG
- (see page 24 in the disk documentation)
- (see page 29 in the bound documentation)
- 2) If you use a LOG file (Configuration Options 4-6), also specify a full
- drive:\path on a drive on which Phone Secretary can write, for example:
- C:\PS\PHONE.LOG
- (see page 06 in the disk documentation)
- (see page 04 in the bound documentation)
- When you press "5" the window that opens is actually wider than can be
- shown. As you type the window will automatically scroll.
