  1. What you will find here is a collection of utilities and small programs
  2. accumulated over years by Jean-Pierre Demailly (I am mainly a mathematician,
  3. but also a hobbyist programmer and a very early Linux user.)
  4.  
  5. The vast majority of these programs were originally created by other people,
  6. but in some cases I ended up correcting bugs or adding substantial 
  7. functionality.
  8.  
  9. Many of them were useful in the era where Linux was in its infancy.
  10. They may look obsolete right now, but some of them are still quite
  11. useful and/or funny now, in spite of their age. You may find e.g.
  12. that GTKstereograph is one of the only existing friendly 3D stereogram
  13. generators for Linux. (I maintain xpaint separately on Sourceforge, as
  14. it is still widely used and distributed.)
