  1. This disk contains several astronomy programs, and some graphics 
  2. utilities. instructions are given for installing each in turn.
  3.  
  4. Installing Our Cosmohood
  5.  
  6. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  7.    and change to it.
  8.  
  9.    Eg:   C:
  10.          MD OCH
  11.          CD OCH
  12.  
  13. 2. From that drive and directory, run the OCH program from the floppy
  14.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  15.  
  16.    A:OCH
  17.  
  18.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  19.  
  20. 3. The program is now installed. Type OCH to run it.
  21.  
  22.    To read the documentation type:
  23.  
  24.    TYPE OCH.DOC |MORE

  26.  
  27. Installing Optics
  28.  
  29. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  30.    and change to it.
  31.  
  32.    Eg:   C:
  33.          MD OPT
  34.          CD OPT
  35.  
  36. 2. From that drive and directory, run the OPTICAL program from the floppy
  37.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  38.  
  39.    A:OPTICAL
  40.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  41.  
  42. 3. The program is now installed. Type OPTICS to run it.
  43.  
  44. Installing Diff Dra
  45.  
  46. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  47.    and change to it.
  48.  
  49.    Eg:   C:
  50.          MD DD
  51.          CD DD
  52.  
  53. 2. From that drive and directory, run the DD program from the floppy
  54.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  55.  
  56.    A:DD
  57.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  58.  
  59. 3. The program is now installed. Type DIFF_DRA to run it.

  65. Installing ECLIPSE
  66.  
  67. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  68.    and change to it.

  71.          MD ECLIPSES
  72.          CD ECLIPSES

  74. 2. From that drive and directory, run the ECLIPSES program from the floppy
  75.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:

  78.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.

  80. 3. The program is now installed. Type ECLIPSE to run it.

  85. Installing JSSC
  86.  
  87. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  88.    and change to it.

  94. 2. From that drive and directory, run the JS program from the floppy
  95.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:

  101. 3. The program is now installed. Type JSSC to run it.

  107. Installing PLANET
  108.  
  109. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  110.    and change to it.

  115.  
  116. 2. From that drive and directory, run the JS program from the floppy
  117.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:

  119.    A:PLAN
  120.  
  121.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.

  123. 3. The program is now installed. Type PLANETS to run it.

  125.    To view the documentation type:

  129. Installing SATMOON
  130.  
  131. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  132.    and change to it.

  134.    Eg:   C:
  135.          MD SATURN
  136.          CD SATURN
  137.  
  138. 2. From that drive and directory, run the SATURN program from the floppy
  139.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  140.  
  141.    A:SATURN
  142.  
  143.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  144.  
  145. 3. The program is now installed. Type SATMOON to run it.

  147.    To view the documentation type:
  148.    TYPE SATMOON.DOC |MORE

  151. Installing Silicon Sky
  152.  
  153. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  154.    and change to it.
  155.  
  156.    Eg:   C:
  157.          MD SSKY
  158.          CD SSKY
  159.  
  160. 2. From that drive and directory, run the SISKY program from the floppy
  161.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  162.  
  163.    A:SISKY
  164.  
  165.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  166.  
  167. 3. The program is now installed. Type SETUP to install it then
  168.    SISKY to run it.
  169.  
  170. Installing MOON
  171.  
  172. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  173.    and change to it.
  174.  
  175.    Eg:   C:
  176.          MD MOON
  177.          CD MOON
  178.  
  179. 2. From that drive and directory, run the MOON program from the floppy
  180.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  181.  
  182.    A:MOON
  183.  
  184.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  185.  
  186. 3. The program is now installed. Type MOON to run it.
  187.  
  188. Installing JMoons
  189.  
  190. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  191.    and change to it.
  192.  
  193.    Eg:   C:
  194.          MD JM
  195.          CD JM
  196.  
  197. 2. From that drive and directory, run the JMOON2 program from the floppy
  198.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  199.  
  200.    A:JMOON2
  201.  
  202.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  203.  
  204. 3. The program is now installed. Type JMOONS to run it.
  205.  
  206. Installing GIFDESK
  207.  
  208. GIFDESK is a DOS program for viewing and tiling GIF format images.
  209.  
  210. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  211.    and change to it.
  212.  
  213.    Eg:   C:
  214.          MD GDESK
  215.          CD GDESK
  216.  
  217. 2. From that drive and directory, run the GIFDESK program from the floppy
  218.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  219.  
  220.    A:GIFDESK
  221.  
  222.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  223.  
  224. 3. The program is now installed. Type GIFDESK *.GIF to run it.
  225.    Note that it will end immediately if there are no GIF files
  226.    in that directory. For this reason you may want to install
  227.    it in your DOS directory, so you can run it anywhere.

  232. Installing Graphic Workshop for DOS
  233.  
  234. This is an image conversion program for the DOS environment.
  235.  
  236. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  237.    and change to it.
  238.  
  239.    Eg:   C:
  240.          MD GWS1
  241.          CD GWS1
  242.  
  243. 2. From that drive and directory, run the GWSDOS program from the floppy
  244.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  245.  
  246.    A:GWSDOS
  247.  
  248.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  249.  
  250. 3. The program is now installed. Type GWS to run it.

  252.    To read the documentation:

  254.    TYPE GWS.DOC |MORE

  256.  
  257. Installing Graphics Workshop for Windows
  258.  
  259. Graphic Workshop for Windows is a graphics conversion and processing for the
  260. Windows environment.
  261.  
  262. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  263.    and change to it.
  264.  
  265.    Eg:   C:
  266.          MD GWS2
  267.          CD GWS2
  268.  
  269.   NOTE! You MUST NOT install to the same directory as you use for the DOS
  270.   version! You will also get problems if both programs are in your DOS path.

  272. 2. From that drive and directory, run the GWSWIN program from the floppy
  273.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  274.  
  275.    A:GWSWIN
  276.  
  277.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  278.  
  279. 3. The program is now installed. You now need to add GWS.EXE in that
  280.    directory to your program manager setup. See your windows documentation
  281.    for full details.

  283. Installing JPEG4
  284.  
  285. These programs provide a simple and memory efficient way of converting
  286. between GIF and JPEG. Use these if you find your windows programs run
  287. out of memory, or if you have a lot of images to convert in batch mode.
  288.  
  289. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  290.    and change to it.
  291.  
  292.    Eg:   C:
  293.          MD JP
  294.          CD JP
  295.  
  296. 2. From that drive and directory, run the JPEG4 program from the floppy
  297.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  298.  
  299.    A:JPEG4
  300.  
  301.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  302.  
  303. 3. The program is now installed. 
  304.  
  305.    Use the DJPEG program to convert from JPEG to GIF
  306.    Use the CJPEG program to convert from GIF to JPEG
  307.  
  308.    To read the docs type:
