  1. This disk contains 4 graphics utilities.
  2. Installing each is described in turn.

  4. Installing GIFDESK
  5.  
  6. GIFDESK is a DOS program for viewing and tiling GIF format images.
  7.  
  8. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  9.    and change to it.
  10.  
  11.    Eg:   C:
  12.          MD GDESK
  13.          CD GDESK
  14.  
  15. 2. From that drive and directory, run the GIFDESK program from the floppy
  16.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:
  17.  
  18.    A:GIFDESK
  19.  
  20.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.
  21.  
  22. 3. The program is now installed. Type GIFDESK *.GIF to run it.
  23.    Note that it will end immediately if there are no GIF files
  24.    in that directory. For this reason you may want to install
  25.    it in your DOS directory, so you can run it anywhere.

  30. Installing Graphic Workshop for DOS
  31.  
  32. This is an image conversion program for the DOS environment.
  33.  
  34. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  35.    and change to it.
  36.  
  37.    Eg:   C:
  38.          MD GWS1
  39.          CD GWS1
  40.  
  41. 2. From that drive and directory, run the GWSDOS program from the floppy
  42.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:

  44.    A:GWSDOS
  45.  
  46.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.

  48. 3. The program is now installed. Type GWS to run it.

  55. Installing Graphics Workshop for Windows
  56.  
  57. Graphic Workshop for Windows is a graphics conversion and processing for the
  58. Windows environment.
  59.  
  60. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  61.    and change to it.

  63.    Eg:   C:
  64.          MD GWS2
  65.          CD GWS2
  66.  
  67.   NOTE! You MUST NOT install to the same directory as you use for the DOS
  68.   version! You will also get problems if both programs are in your DOS path.

  70. 2. From that drive and directory, run the GWSWIN program from the floppy
  71.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:

  73.    A:GWSWIN
  74.  
  75.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.

  77. 3. The program is now installed. You now need to add GWS.EXE in that
  78.    directory to your program manager setup. See your windows documentation
  79.    for full details.

  82. Installing JPEG4
  83.  
  84. These programs provide a simple and memory efficient way of converting
  85. between GIF and JPEG. Use these if you find your windows programs run
  86. out of memory, or if you have a lot of images to convert in batch mode.

  88. 1. Make a directory on the drive you wish to install the program on,
  89.    and change to it.

  91.    Eg:   C:
  92.          MD JP
  93.          CD JP
  94.  
  95. 2. From that drive and directory, run the JPEG4 program from the floppy
  96.    disk. For example, if the disk is in drive A type:

  98.    A:JPEG4
  99.  
  100.    This will unpack the files onto your hard disk.

  102. 3. The program is now installed.

  104.    Use the DJPEG program to convert from JPEG to GIF
  105.    Use the CJPEG program to convert from GIF to JPEG
