  4. Here are some last minute additions to the manual...
  5.  
  6. MY FILTERS DON'T APPEAR IN PHOTOSHOP BUT ARE IN
  7. THE PHOTOSHOP PLUGIN DIRECTORY
  8. If you are running Windows 3.1x or Windows for Workgroups with 
  9. Photoshop 3.x, you will need to install our 32-bit filters using the 
  10. "A:SETUP /M" option described on page 23 of The Black Box manual.
  11.  
  12. NEW 32-BIT GRAPHIC PROGRAMS
  13. There are new versions of some graphic programs that now take 
  14. advantage of the 32-bit operating system (Win 95, Win NT): 
  15. Corel PhotoPaint 6.0 and Micrografx Picture Publisher 6.0. You will 
  16. want to install the 32-bit version of our software for those applications.
  17.  
  18. OUTER BEVEL IN LAYERS
  19. The filter Outer Bevel needs to affect graphic information 
  20. outside of a selection. If you make a selection in a layer that has 
  21. transparent elements, you will get unpredictable results. You can tell 
  22. that this will happen when you look at the preview in the Outer Bevel 
  23. dialog box. If there is a checkerboard in the area where the Outer Bevel filter is 
  24. supposed to be affecting, the filter will not work correctly. A workaround 
  25. would be to apply a diffuse Glow around the selection (after saving the 
  26. selection, of course) and then apply the Outer Bevel to the saved selection.

  29. COMPATIBILITY ISSUES
  30. Just because a new graphic program claims to support Photoshop filters 
  31. does not mean that we are automatically compatible with that program. Programmers 
  32. sometimes don't always strictly play by the rules. We want The Black Box 
  33. to work with as many programs as possible, but it takes time and resources 
  34. that are not always available. We cannot support or predict the outcome of 
  35. using our filters with programs other than: Corel Photopaint, Micrografx 
  36. PicturePublisher, Adobe Photoshop. Soon we will be able to support JASC 
  37. PaintShopPro 3.12. We are also working with other companies to be compatible.
