  3. There was a mother duck who hatched her eggs. One
  4. by one she hatched the most beautiful ducklings.
  5. She could hardly wait for the last egg to open.

  8. Finally, the last egg hatched and out popped the ugliest
  9. duckling the mother duck had ever seen. "What will the
  10. other animals think?" she thought.

  13. The next day the mother duck took all her ducklings to
  14. the barnyard where the animals made fun of the ugly
  15. duckling.

  18. After that, the mother duck left the ugly duckling
  19. behind. Knowing she was embarrassed, the ugly duckling
  20. ran away.

  23. The ugly duckling traveled all over the countryside
  24. looking for a new home. He couldn't find the right

  28. One day the ugly duckling met a kind old woman who
  29. took him in to live with her and her two other pets.

  37. away again. It was winter now, and the duckling fell

  42. found a pond with three beautiful swans. He swam up

  47. reflection he noticed something wonderful. He wasn't
  48. a duck after all but a beautiful swan!
