  4. It was Christmas Eve and Dasher was so happy he could
  5. have lifted Santa's sleigh by himself! Dasher's wife
  6. Felice had their firstborn - a tiny baby reindeer.

  9. The precious little reindeer was named Rudolph.
  10. Rudolph and his mother proudly watched Dasher lead
  11. the reindeer team that carried Santa across the sky.

  14. When Dasher returned Christmas morning, Felice said,
  15. "Something is wrong with our son!"  The doctor said,
  16. "I have never seen anything like this before."

  19. As it turned out, Rudolph was not sick. He was just a
  20. very special reindeer with a very special red nose.

  23. As Rudolph grew up, the other reindeer made fun of
  24. his red nose. This made Rudolph sad, but he dreamed
  25. of one day leading Santa's sleigh just like his father.

  28. Rudolph began to train every day with his father.
  29. Dasher taught him how to run so fast that he could fly.

  32. The following Christmas, Dasher fell and hurt his leg.
  33. Santa said, "How can we make our journey without you
  34. Dasher? Who can fly in your place?"

  37. Everyone wondered what Santa would do. Rudolph
  38. walked with Santa through the woods. Santa told him a
  39. secret, "Your father thinks you can guide my sleigh."

  42. Rudolph got so excited that his red nose began to glow!
  43. Santa couldn't believe his eyes and said, "Rudolph your
  44. nose will shine the way for us!"

  47. As they flew off into the sky that night, Santa
  48. shouted, "Rudolph has saved Christmas! Merry, Merry
  49. Christmas!" And Rudolph was proud of his red nose.
