  3. Hi, my name's Jack and here's my story. My mom and
  4. I were real poor... so poor, my mom told me to go
  5. sell our last cow.

  8. On the way to town I met an old wizard. He told me
  9. he had six beans that were worth twenty cows. What a
  10. deal! Right?! So I gave him our cow.

  13. I thought Mom would be so happy. Instead, she
  14. screamed, "You sold our last cow for six lousy beans?"
  15. She was ticked. She threw the beans out the window.

  18. The next morning I looked out my window. You
  19. wouldn't believe what I saw - a giant beanstalk that
  20. reached to the clouds! I had to climb it. I'm a boy!

  23. When I got to the top I heard, "You're finally here."
  24. I almost jumped out of my pants! There was a giant
  25. woman there talking to me.

  28. She told me that her husband stole my dad's treasures
  29. long ago. He stole a singing harp, a bag of silver,
  30. and a hen that laid golden eggs.

  33. The lady said, "Now he sits waiting day and night for
  34. someone to take them back. Hurry! Sneak in while he's
  35. sleeping."

  38. I snuck into the giant's castle. He was sound asleep,
  39. so I grabbed the silver, the chicken and the harp. But
  40. when I grabbed the harp, it started singing. Oh, great!!

  43. "Come back here!" yelled the giant. He chased me. I ran
  44. as fast as I could. The giant kept yelling, "Come back
  45. here!" I ran to the beanstalk and climbed down.

  48. When I got to the bottom, I saw the giant was right
  49. behind me. I was so scared! I grabbed an axe and cut
  50. the beanstalk down. The giant fell with a thud!

  53. I thought the giant was dead, but he whispered, "I told
  54. you to come back. I wanted to tell you I was sorry for
  55. stealing your dad's stuff." I felt so sorry for him.

  58. That was a long time ago. The giant and his wife moved
  59. in with us. We share everything, and we'll never let
  60. money get in the way of friendship ever again.
