  17. This file contains information regarding the posting of the
  18. SkyMap package, version 1.3, on Bulletin Board Systems.

  31. Limited Distribution License:

  33. As the exclusive copyright holder for SkyMap, Chris Marriott
  34. authorizes on-line distribution only in accordance with
  35. the following restrictions.  Disk Vendors and Distributors should
  36. refer to the VENDOR.TXT text file for complete license
  37. information.

  39.     o  The SkyMap package - including all related program
  40.        files and documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any
  41.        way (other than that mentioned in the following paragraph)
  42.        and must be distributed as a complete package, without
  43.        exception.
  44.  
  45.     o  Many BBSs customarily add a small text file
  46.        (advertisement) to each archived file.  This text file
  47.        describes the BBS and tells people that the file was
  48.        downloaded from that particular BBS.  Other BBSs add a
  49.        small one-line message with their BBS name and phone
  50.        number into the compressed file, which will display when
  51.        the file is uncompressed.  Either of these methods of
  52.        mentioning your BBS are acceptable and may be used,
  53.        provided the program and documentation is otherwise
  54.        unmodified and complete.

  56.     o  Chris Marriott prohibits the distribution of outdated
  57.        versions of the SkyMap package, without written
  58.        permission. If the version you have obtained is over
  59.        twelve (12) months old, please contact us to ensure that
  60.        you have the most current version.

  62.     o  Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify,
  63.        decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or
  64.        transfer the licensed program except as provided in this
  65.        agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall result in
  66.        immediate and automatic termination of this license.

  68.     o  U.S. Government Information:  Use, duplication, or
  69.        disclosure by the U.S. Government of the computer software
  70.        and documentation in this package shall be subject to the
  71.        restricted rights applicable to commercial computer
  72.        software as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the
  73.        Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause at
  74.        252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).  The

  98. BBS Update Program:
  99. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  100. Most BBSs have standard procedures for acquiring new files.  They
  101. get them from other boards, new programs are uploaded by users,
  102. etc.  This is good because most authors cannot afford to mail
  103. disks or upload files to thousands of BBSs.  However, some BBSs
  104. prefer to obtain programs directly from the authors.  If you
  105. would like to obtain programs directly from us, automatically,
  106. then please help us to cover the cost.

  108. If your BBS would like to receive automatic upgrades to any of
  109. our products, directly from us, then please refer to the
  110. information below.  Due to the time and expense we are generally
  111. unable to upload directly to a large number of Bulletin Board
  112. Systems.  However, we are able to mail updates on disk (in a
  113. sealed envelope) to many BBS's.
  114.  
  115. If your BBS would like to receive automatic updates then please
  116. take advantage of our BBS Update Program.  Under this program you
  117. can receive updates for an entire year for only £5 per program
  118. (this helps to offset our costs).
  119.  
  120. To receive updates, simply send us a letter with the name and
  121. address of your BBS, your mailing address, the name of the person
  122. we may contact (preferably the SYSOP or CO-SYSOP), the program
  123. (or programs) for which you would like to receive updates, and a
  124. check or money order for £5 for each program (for countries
  125. outside of the UK please add an additional £5 per program).

  132. NOTE: All BBS's participating in our BBS Update Program will
  133.       automatically receive any NEW programs which we may release
  134.       while their BBS Update Program is in effect.

  136. The BBS Update Program is only intended to help us cover our
  137. expenses in those cases where a BBS desires to obtain the program
  138. directly from us.  If you have other standard ways to obtain
  139. programs, then you may prefer not to use our BBS Update Program.
