  6.                           WHAT IS EasyFold?

  9. EasyFold is a simple-to-use folding editor. A "conventional editor with
  10. folds" rather than a "folding editor".
  11.  
  12. If you don't use folds, EasyFold will operate as an ordinary editor.
  13.  
  14. If you don't already know what folds are, then you can get a
  15. demonstration by editing "FOLD.HLP" and following the instructions.
  16.  
  17. Folds put into your files will appear as comments with the format
  18. depending on the file extension. For example if the file ends in .BAS
  19. (basic) the fold information will appear after REM statements. This means
  20. that files edited with EasyFold will compile or run normally. Extensions
  21. recognised by easy fold are, .C .CPP .BAS .PAS .ASM .TEX .BAT .PRO and
  22. .MOD.

  53. If you don't want to have to read many pages of documentation just to
  54. find out that <PgDn> gets you on to the next page, please just read the
  55. short file "QUICK.DOC" which contains a few important features that are
  56. NOT on the menus and you will miss if you don't read the whole manual.

  58.                         HOW TO RUN EasyFold

  61. If you want to get started straight away, just read this section.
  62.  
  63. You can run EasyFold by typing "EF" followed by the name of the file you
  64. wish to edit. For example if you want to edit "MYFILE.DOC", simply type:
  65.  
  66.     EF MYFILE.TXT
  67.  
  68. and use F1 to access the menus. However, if you intend to explore the
  69. folding aspects of EasyFold I recommend that you edit the file "FOLD.HLP"
  70. that comes with the editor. This is not just a text file to read but an
  71. interactive tutorial on folding.

  73. In order to be able to use EasyFold from any directory you will need to
  74. add the directory into which you installed EasyFold to the PATH statement
  75. within AUTOEXEC.BAT.
