  27.      Installing applications on NetWare Lite may be different from installing
  28.      applications on NetWare.  NetWare is, as you know, a very popular LAN. 
  29.      Many applications have NetWare specific installation options.  These
  30.      installation options do not apply to NetWare Lite networks.  NetWare Lite
  31.      is a DOS peer-to-peer network.  If the application being installed has
  32.      network specific installations, then "Other networks..," "DOS
  33.      peer-to-peer network," or the like should be selected.  Do not select
  34.      NetWare or Novell installation options.  See Appendix B in the NetWare
  35.      Lite documentation for more details about using NetWare Lite with
  36.      NetWare.

  38.      In general, some consideration should be given when installing
  39.      applications.  If the application requires configuration information at
  40.      the time it is installed, then consideration should be given to which
  41.      CLIENTs (machines) will use the application.

  43.           Example:  Suppose application TESTAPP.EXE is being installed and it
  44.           prompts for the monitor type that will be used with this
  45.           application.  Suppose that the machine you are on has a VGA screen
  46.           but no other machines on the network have VGA screens.  If you were
  47.           to select VGA then when this application is run from across the
  48.           network from an CGA screen, it may not function properly.

  50.      Novell has no specific guidelines on this subject, as a general solution
  51.      may not be possible.  This is a general problem with configurations of
  52.      applications on a network.
