- QUICK START

-
- If you wish to get FPServer up and running immediately - without reading
- the FPSERVER.DOC file - the following steps will allow you to service a
- single print queue on LPT1:
-
- 1) Select a host PC for the test (this can be any PC that is on the
- network and has a directly-connected printer, including your normal
- workstation)
-
- 2) Log in as Supervisor and use Novell's PCONSOLE utility to confirm
- that the print server object does NOT require a password
-
- 3) Run QRIGHTS.EXE (included with FPServer) to grant queue operator
- rights to the print server object using the following syntax:
-
- QRIGHTS printserver printqueue <enter>
-
- 4) Start FPServer with a command line parameter which specifies the
- port, file server, print server, and print queue as follows:
-
- FPSERVER LPT1QUEUE=fileserver/printserver/printqueue <enter>
-
-
- The LPT1QUEUE command must use forward slashes and have no embedded spaces.
- All three parameters - the file server name, AND the print server name, AND
- the print queue name - must be supplied as shown. The command is not case
- sensitive, so upper and lower case characters may be freely intermixed.
-
- Steps 1, 2, and 3 are setup steps which need not be repeated. You may
- restart FPServer as many times as you wish with the command in step 4.
-
- Please read the FPSERVER.DOC file for complete information on FPServer.
- Thank you for your support!
