Article 0001 - "This mag is my mag, This mag is your mag!"
Hey there, thanks for taking the time to read this. This is the first
issue of Axe Productions, and I am starting this by myself. That is why there
are only two articles. Well, I am trying to figure out how to make this
interesting, hmmmm... well I have too much knowledge to fit it all in this
size of an issue, so I only wrote one article for now, and in the next issue
hopefully you will have one in here too. Thanks,
Dr. Axe
Article 0002 - "Vivid - anyone can use it, so should you!"
Hello, have you ever wanted to create your own art on your computer
and have it blow away the fancy chrome-tech flying logos on TV. Well, now you
can thanks to Stephen Coy and his awesome raytracer Vivid! I have tried every
ray tracer I could get my hands on(Polyray, POV, RTrace, Etc...) and the
problem I had with most of those is that they were not user friendly to me at
first, this has changed though since I have begun ray tracing as a hard core
hobby. But, my first try at Vivid, worked! All you have to do for a standard
run is type VIVID287 [filename] and it goes! Vivid creates the most real
traces I have scene on the PC. It has a very user friendly interface for you
to use. Much like a simplified C language. If you perfer a different ray
tracer why don't you write an article on it and we'll just throw it in here so
people don't get a biased view. Any of you out there that run Vivid and are
thinking of registering for the 386 version go for it! I did and Stephen Coy
sent me his latest version 2.0a20 which is alot better even then the 2.0
freeware version. Please, if you haven't tried Vivid before, go get it under
the file name VIVID2.ZIP and you won't be sad. Thanks,
Dr. Axe
