  11. Summary:

  13. When you run Setup with the /E parameter to install the optional
  14. utilities, Setup does not display any warning or error messages if it
  15. is unable to modify your SYSTEM.INI file because it cannot find the
  16. [386enh] section header.
  17.  
  18. If the SYSTEM.INI file is not updated with the
  19. DEVICE=C:\DOS\VFINTD.386 line, you receive the following error message
  20. when you start Microsoft Backup for Windows:

  22.    Microsoft Backup is not properly installed on this system.

  24. Workaround
  25. ----------

  27. To work around this problem, edit your SYSTEM.INI file and add the
  28. following line to the [386enh] section:
  29.  
  30.    DEVICE=C:\DOS\VFINTD.386
  31.  
  32. Microsoft Backup for Windows should function correctly after you
  33. restart Windows.
