  13. Microsoft Windows NT has a Flexboot feature that allows you to choose
  14. the operating system you want to start: Windows NT or MS-DOS. This
  15. feature is controlled by the Windows NT custom master boot record
  16. (MBR), which calls NTLDR when you start your computer. NTLDR then
  17. loads a menu for you to choose which operating system to start. If you
  18. choose MS-DOS, a hidden file called BOOTSECT.DOS is read to start
  19. MS-DOS.

  23. If Setup detects NTLDR and BOOTSECT.DOS, it does not update the MBR,
  24. thus preserving Flexboot.
