  12. VSafe Manager (MWAVTSR.EXE) is a Windows-based application that allows
  13. bidirectional communication with VSafe.
  14.  
  15. VSafe in not a Windows-based application; therefore, if you are
  16. running Windows, the only way VSafe can inform you that there is a
  17. problem is to cause the system to beep. When VSafe Manager is running,
  18. VSafe can send you messages through VSafe Manager. In addition, VSafe
  19. Manager lets you change VSafe settings while Windows is running.

  23. The most common problem with VSafe Manager occurs when Windows beeps
  24. as you start it. This beeping occurs after you have upgraded Windows
  25. because VSafe checks the files that are loading against the CHKLIST.MS
  26. file in the loading file's directory. If they don't match, VSafe tries
  27. to prevent the file from loading.

  29. To work around this problem, do one of the following:

  31.  - Rescan you disk with Microsoft Anti-Virus after upgrading to create
  32.    new checksum files.
  33.  
  34.    -or-
  35.  
  36.  - Delete the current checksum files.

  38. To create new checksum files:
  39.  
  40. 1. From the Options menu, choose Set Options.
  41.  
  42. 2. Select the Create New Checksums check box and choose the OK button.
  43.  
  44. 3. Select the drive you want to scan and choose the Detect button.

  46. To delete the checksum files:
  47.  
  48. 1. Select the drive from which you want to delete the checksum files.
  49.  
  50. 2. From the Scan menu, choose Delete CHKLIST Files.
