  12. If you start your computer using the interactive startup option in
  13. order to free enough memory to run the DoubleSpace Stacker conversion
  14. option, you may receive the following error message after DoubleSpace
  15. restarts your computer:

  17.    Not enough conventional memory
  18.  
  19. More Information:
  20.  
  21. When you start your computer and press the F8, F5, or SHIFT key to
  22. free enough conventional memory to run the DoubleSpace Stacker
  23. converter, you must also use the interactive startup option when
  24. DoubleSpace restarts your computer. If you do not use this option, you
  25. will not have enough memory to complete the conversion.

  27. If you use the F5 key to bypass the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files,
  28. the only directory in the PATH environment variable is C:\DOS;
  29. therefore, DoubleSpace cannot start Stacker.

  31. Workaround

  34. To work around this situation, either use the F8 key to bypass some of
  35. your device drives before and during the Stacker conversion process,
  36. or remark out (REM) some of the device drivers and
  37. terminate-and-stay-resident (TSR) programs in your CONFIG.SYS file.
