  44. AST's SixPakPlus multifunction expansion board for the IBM PC, PC XT,
  45. Portable, 3270 PC and compatibles provides versatility and high performance by
  46. giving you the most needed PC enhancement options in a single slot, including
  47. up to 576Kb memory and several input/output functions.

  49. SixPakPlus memory expansion capability starts at 64Kb and expands in 64Kb
  50. and/or 256Kb increments to a maximum of 576Kb, bringing your PC up to its full
  51. 640Kb limit. Because all memory is socketed, it's simple to increase memory
  52. capacity as your computing needs grow. And for absolute reliability, the
  53. SixPakPlus supports the PC's advanced memory error-checking.

  55. For input-output needs, SixPakPlus features a serial port, a parallel port, a
  56. clock/calendar with battery backup and an optional game adapter port. This
  57. means the entire lineup of PC-compatible peripherals such as printers,
  58. plotters, mice, modems and joysticks can be quickly and easily connected to
  59. the SixPakPlus.

  61. Every SixPakPlus comes with AST's SuperPak utility software, featuring
  62. SuperDrive(TM), fASTdisk(TM) and SuperSpool(TM). SuperDrive and fASTdisk
  63. emulate floppy and hard disks, respectively. Using fASTdisk, you can create
  64. virtual hard disks as large as your total system memory. And for increased
  65. productivity, SuperSpool lets you run print jobs while you continue to enter
  66. and process data.

  74. The SixPakPlus is a multi-function Memory Expansion board designed for the IBM
  75. PC and XT and 100% compatibles running at 4.77 MHz.  In it's standard
  76. configuration, it comes with anywhere between 64K and 384K of RAM using
  77. industry standard 64K dynamic RAM chips, a Clock/Calendar a Serial Port
  78. configurable as COM1: or COM2: and a Parallel Port configurable as LPT1 or
  79. LPT2.  All memory installed on the SixPakPlus is designed to expand your PC to
  80. it's 640K maximum.  It does not support extended or EMS/EEMS type memory.  In
  81. addition to the basic configuration, it can be configured with a Game Port.

  128. RS232 JUMPER SETTINGS

  130.     The RS232 configuration block is made up of three sets of three pins each.
  131.     Their function is to minimize the need for making special I/O cables for
  132.     some unique serial devices. The normal setting in nearly all cases is to
  133.     install three jumpers connecting the middle and left pin in each row. In
  134.     rare instances, a device may require that the CTS, DSR, or DCD signals be
  135.     forced true. In these cases, move the corresponding jumper to connect the
  136.     center and right pin.

  216.     instances, a device may require that the CTS, DSR, or DCD signals be
  217.     forced true. In these cases, move the corresponding jumpers as follows:
