  5.  Certain technical items, such as the source code samples to write special
  6.  interfaces to WinCheck Visual Basic and the Windows SDK have been removed
  7.  from this disk to allow the programs to fit on a 360K disk.  Versions of
  8.  the program with the source code samples and the DDE technical reference
  9.  manual are available on our BBS (206 935 5198) and on Compuserve (WINAPA

  26.         *** JUST WHAT IS WINCHECK ***
  27.  
  28.  WinCheck is designed to manage any number of checking, savings, and credit
  29.  card accounts.  Since WinCheck's initial release last year, it has
  30.  developed into a top-notch financial manager.  There is the Check Form 
  31.  Designer, to build check templates for printing on virtually any pre-printed 
  32.  check form (dot matrix and laser checks are both supported).

  34.  The Custom Report Maker allows you to view and print a variety of supplied
  35.  reports, such as cash flow reports, or create custom reports tailored to your
  36.  own needs.  With the Custom Report Maker, you can print an entertainment
  37.  expense report, a credit/deposit history, or all tax deductible transactions
  38.  for the year to date.

  40.  WinCheck's transaction classifications, or "categories," allow you to keep
  41.  track of the money earned and spent on categories such as Business and 
  42.  Entertainment.  WinCheck's budgeting facilities can be used in combination
  43.  with these categories to plan a monthly budget.  Add reoccurring transactions
  44.  to a menu or have WinCheck remind you to make transactions such as mortgage
  45.  payments and paycheck deposits. WinCheck also supports Windows Dynamic Data
  46.  Exchange (DDE) and sports an internal batch language.

  48.  WinCheck offers an exceptionally attractive and intuitive user interface
  49.  featuring a Control Bar, Status Bar, iconic "Toolbox," and check registers
  50.  with adjustable column widths.  Checks and other transactions appear as 3-D
  51.  dialog boxes with bitmapped backgrounds.  Screen colors and fonts are fully
  52.  customizable.  Standard operations, such as writing checks and making
  53.  deposits, may be performed by clicking on icons from the Control Bar.

  55.  The online help facility and intuitive user interface pretty much precludes
  56.  the need for a manual, although the 200 page, heavily illustrated manual 
  57.  does further detail many of WinCheck's features with various examples.

  92.        *** HOW TO INSTALL WINCHECK ***
  93.

  95.  Use our SETUP.EXE program, which will copy the files for you and install 
  96.  a WINCHECK group in the program manager with a TUT (Tutorial) account.
  97.  To use our SETUP.EXE program...
  98.  
  99.    1) Close down all extraneous Windows applications.
  100.  
  101.    2) Then do ONE of the following:
  102.  
  103.        A) From File Manager,  locate then double click the SETUP.EXE
  104.           file in the directory you copies the files to:
  105.  
  106.           OR
  107.  
  108.        B) From Program Manager, pull down the FILE menu, and select the
  109.           RUN option.  Enter the full path to the SETUP.EXE file, as in
  110.               "C:\XXX\SETUP.EXE"
  111.           and hit ENTER.
  112.  
  113.    3) When the setup program asks for a directory, specify initial directory,
  114.       or accept the given default (C:\WINCHECK). 
  115.  
  116.    4) When the next dialog box shows up, you can select what you want to
  117.       install.  If there is any doubt, select everything by hitting the
  118.       "Add All" button.
  119.  
  120.    5) Then push the INSTALL button to install WinCheck.
  121.  
  122.    6) When the setup process is complete, you may delete the temporary
  123.       directory you created in the first step.

  128.           *** PRINTING PROBLEMS? ***
  129.  
  130.     Refer to the On-Line Help topic "Printing Checks" for help with 
  131.     printing checks to a Dot Matrix Printer.
  132.     
  133.     Most printer drivers have special features that take added
  134.     advantage of the Windows 3.0 environment.  WinCheck assumes
  135.     that you have one of these drivers installed.  Some older
  136.     printer drivers, and current versions of some font packages
  137.     (Bitstream Facelift) do not support these features. 
  138.  
  139.     If WinCheck does not print properly on your system, add the
  140.     following line to the [WiChk14a] section of your WIN.INI file:
  141.  
  142.     NODEVMODE=1
  143.  
  144.     This line will cause WinCheck to bypass the special printer
  145.     driver features that cause the problems.  Note:  You will not
  146.     be able to print landscape checks if you use the NODEVMODE=1
  147.     option.

  200.  WinCheck is not and has never been public domain software, nor
  201.  is it free software.

  203.  Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use WinCheck
  204.  on a 21-day trial basis for the purpose of determining whether
  205.  WinCheck is suitable for their needs.  The use of WinCheck, except
  206.  for the initial 21-day trial, requires registration.  The use of
  207.  unlicensed copies of WinCheck, outside of the initial 21-day trial,
  208.  by any person, business, corporation,  government agency or any other
  209.  entity is strictly prohibited.
  210.  
  211.  A single user license permits a user to use WinCheck only on a single
  212.  computer.  Licensed users may use the program on different computers,
  213.  but may not use the program on more than one computer at the same time.

  215.  No one may modify or patch the WinCheck executable files in any way, 
  216.  including but not limited to decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise
  217.  reverse engineering the program.

  219.  A limited license is granted to copy and distribute WinCheck only for 
  220.  the trial use of others, subject to the above limitations, and also the

  223.   1)    WinCheck must be copied in unmodified form, complete

  240.        the ASP may distribute WinCheck, subject to the
  241.        above conditions, without specific permission.  Non-
  242.        approved vendors may distribute WinCheck only after
  243.        obtaining written permission from Wilson WindowWare.
  244.        Such permission is usually granted.  Please write for
  245.        details (enclose your catalog).  Vendors may charge a
  246.        disk duplication and handling fee, which, when pro-rated
  247.        to the WinCheck product, may not exceed eight dollars.
  248.        ASP approved vendors will automatically be updated with the
  249.        latest versions of this software on a regular basis.
  250.     C) Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of the WinCheck
  251.        diskette to their members, subject to the above conditions,
  252.        without specific permission.  Non-profit groups may collect
  253.        a disk duplication fee not to exceed five dollars.

  255.   LIMITED WARRANTY

  257.   Wilson WindowWare guarantees your satisfaction with this product for
  258.   a period of 90 days from the date of original purchase.  If you are
  259.   unsatisfied with WinCheck within that time period, return the package
  260.   in saleable condition to the place of purchase for a full refund.

  262.   Wilson WindowWare warrants that all disks provided are free from
  263.   defects in material and workmanship, assuming normal use, for a period
  264.   of 90 days from the date of purchase.
  265.  
  266.   Wilson WindowWare warrants that the program will perform in substantial
  267.   compliance with the documentation supplied with the software product. 
  268.   If a significant defect in the product is found, the Purchaser may 
  269.   return the product for a refund.  In no event will such a refund
  270.   exceed the purchase price of the product.

  272.   EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, WILSON WINDOWWARE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES,
  273.   EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED
