  companies with large databases.  Each laser disk holds over 100 MB
  of Data and is removable providing the user with unlimited reliable

   probably go down to the $500.00 price range within a few months.

   OCR Software can read the text you scan and puts it into a format

  MONITORS

  If you're getting the itch to upgrade your old mono system, VGA
  Color is the way to go, at the moment.  We can now get resolutions
  that make your computer look like a perfect photograph, with

  Panasonic makes the best monitor today.  It's Multisync so you will
  never need another upgrade.  Our experience tells us it will last
  longer than any other brand.  We love Panasonic products.  We have
  very few complaints with this brand. So, it costs a little more but
  worth it.

  the resolution of VGA but in a Paper White Monochrome screen.  This

   At THE CUTTING EDGE, we operate a little differently than our
   competitors.  We only sell software that we have used and tested

   We do this because we find that there is a great deal of
   software that makes a good story, but when you actually look at
   it and use it, it does not deliver the goods as well as another
   program in the same categor.  There are basically only a few
   dozen categories of programs and yet there are thousands of

  In the following categories, we have listed software that we

  WORD PROCESSING

   The best currently is Wordperfect, Microsoft Word and Symantec's
   Just Write.  They all run under Windows, which makes it the
   easiest to learn and operate and it also does most functions
   traditionally found in Desktop Publishing programs.


  If you just want to write a novel and nothing more, the next best is
  the Norton Editor.  About $100.00


  DATA BASE MANAGERS

  If you're going to be keeping a list of video tapes or something
  like that for the home, use a simple program like Zoom-Racks or
  PC-File.  Only about $10.00.  These produce simple rolodex cards on
  the screen for easy data entry and lookup.  And they do a few other
  things as well.  Zoomracks will even automatically dial a customer
  or prospect for you if you have a modem attached to your computer.

  If you need to keep track of inventory and sales and payroll and
  other business information, use Q&A.  It's the easiest of all
  database managers on the market to learn and use.  Only about
  $300.00.  The new version is even relational and replaces many of
  the high end database managers like Ashton Tate's Dbase series.

  If you need something very robust and powerful and you have some
  knowledge of programming, nothing on the market today is as easy and
  yet powerful as FoxPro 2.0.  This is a fantastic new program that
  lets anyone design a very complex database management system with
  only a basic knowledge of computer logic, NOT PROGRAMMING.  With
  this exciting new product, all you have to have is a logical mind
  and a good idea of what you want to accomplish.  This product
  allows you to create your own menu system and each menu choice can
  do whatever you want.  It's the best right now, costs a bit more
  than Q&A, but does a bit more, so it's worth it.   About - $600.00

  If you need a corporate CLIENT SERVER application for a Network,
  Oracle Server is the best because of the simplicity of designing
  programs and yet the power is there to satisfy all departments of a
  corporation.                  About  $1500.00 AND YOU NEED ACCESSORY
  PROGRAMS such as DDE exchange and the Windows front end.  About
  $300.00 each.

  SPREADSHEETS

  The best spreadsheet of all time is Microsoft Excel.  It has some
  automatic formula techniques that are dynamite.  Plus, since it's a
  Windows based program, it is the easiest to learn and use and MORE
  IMPORTANTLY, you can cut and paste parts of your spreadsheet into
  your word processor with a few clicks of the mouse or trackball.
  It's also the best graphing program.  Highlight a portion of your
  spreadsheet, click on the graph button on the menu bar and it
  produces the graph for you.  It's that simple!  I love this program
  and use it all the time.  It has no bugs, a great tutorial, and it
  even outlines for you so that you can expand or collapse any portion
  of your spreadsheet for presentations to customers or associates.
  It's about $400.00

  MICROSOFT WINDOWS

  If you don't have Windows, you should get it!  You need to have a
  '286 or above with at least 2 MB of RAM.  We prefer putting it into
  a system with 4 MB RAM.  This is because it actually allows you to
  EASILY AND WITHOUT CONFLICTS run several programs AT THE SAME TIME.
  It also lets you do things you never thought possible with just a
  few clicks of your mouse or trackball.  Windows is a must for people
  or companies that want to get the most out of their computers.
  There are now hundreds of programs written for Windows and together
  they make a wonderful and very useful tool out of a PC.  If you have
  never seen Windows demonstrated, Call us and we'll send you a

   Windows Computing.

PROJECT MANAGERS.

   THE BEST IS ON-TARGET FROM SYMANTEC.  EASY AND QUICK TO LEARN

  ACCOUNTING PROGRAMS

.  QUICKEN, the latest version prints checks, keeps track
  of all your checking accounts in a simple, single entry approach
  that you do not need to be an accountant to work with.  On the
  screen, it looks exactly like a check and check register, so
  entering the data is simple.  Yet, you can get a P & L and Balance
  sheet for your banker.  You can do your payroll yourself and save
  the money you now pay out to an accountant.  You can even have your
  checks printed and mailed for you via an electronic service that
  charges you per checks you mail.  My clients swear by this because
  if you print and mail more than 20 or 30 checks per month, this
  feature alone will save you lots of time and frustration.

  Quicken runs on any PC and there's also a Windows version.  Great
  program.  It wins the award for best program under $100.00 in my
  book.  About $50.00  NEW VERSION WITH PAYROLL.

  Couple Quicken with Turbo Tax and you can actually do your taxes,
  complete through to printing up the 1040, all supporting forms, as
  well as whatever state you're in IN LESS THAN AN HOUR!  I know this
  sounds incredible, but I do my taxes in under an hour every year
  with Turbo Tax and Quicken because Quicken produces a summary by
  category of all my checks and Turbo Tax puts it all into a format
  the IRS can accept.  In the near future, you'll be sending this data
  to the IRS over the phone lines which will get your refund back to
  you in half the time, AND ELIMINATE ALL THE FORMS PREPARATION
  COMPLETELY.          Turbo Tax   -   About $75.00


  Turbo Tax is also the only one I recommend in this category.
  It is the simplest to use and the best at printing all the
  government forms on either a dot matrix or laser printer.


  MAILING LIST MANAGERS

  If you don't think about mailing list managers as database managers,
  you should.  Even if you are mailing out to members of your church,
  there will be times when you want to send a special letter to people
  who contribute more than $1,000.00 and then you might design a
  different letter for people who contribute less than $100.00 and
  then another letter for those in between.  A database manager sorts
  this out for you and prints the labels and merges your letter with
  the names and addresses in your database.  This is what they do
  best.

  The best mailing list manager is Q&A because it has all the features
  you need to keep track of this list of people, inventory items,
  contacts, products, etc. and has the best mail merge utility of all
  the others in this category.   About $300.00

  Windows and Non-windows versions available.

  If you're on a tight budget Contact Plus for $10.00 does the same
  thing.  It's actually an electronic rolodex for ease of use and it
  prints labels and handles mail merge almost as easily and
  wonderfully as Q&A.  I recommend it highly.

  It even has an automated follow-up calendar and schedular as well as
  a good word processor for mail merge and an autodialer.


  EDUCATION

  There are now thousands of programs that help children learn.  We
  have programs available for about $10.00 that will help you study
  for the SAT or Graduate exams.  There are programs for Math and
  sciences at all levels.

  There are programs for adults also who want to learn how to write a
  screenplay, learn a foreign language, how to play a musical
  instrument, or learn how to build a house.  Prices for these kinds of
  programs vary widely so, if there's something you want to learn,
  give us a call and we'll find it for you.

  ENTERTAINMENT

  The same invitation applies to entertainment.  We have arcade style
  games like Space Rescue or Shooting Gallery as well as Board games
  like Monopoly, Chess, Bingo as well as games that emulate the adult
  games found in Las Vegas or Reno.  I personally love to play with
  Blackjack games because this has actually helped me learn how to

   COMMUNICATIONS

  The best communications program for Windows comes free with Windows.
  The Windows Terminal program is even easier to use than Procomm and
  has all their features with the added convenience of being a mouse
  driven windows program so all the cut and paste operations and
  communication with all other Windows programs is available.  Windows
  is about $150.00.  You can find it cheaper, but in our version we
  include several dozen programs that are designed for Windows that
  make it even more productive.


   Close up is our next favorite and is the best if you want to
   work out of your home and communicate with the computer or
   network at an office somewhere.  With Close-Up you can actually
   take over control of the other computer anywhere in the world as
   long as they both have a copy of Close up installed.  It's
   great.  Works fine and is very easy to learn.  Menu driven.


  Well, if you've read through our catalog, you now realize that we
  provide the greatest amount of expertise of any other hardware or

  software currently available and thoroughly tested it for
