Version: 1.13a (Released April 13, 1992)

2. False alarm of the the Shirley virus in the German version of Norton's
FR.EXE corrected.
3. Deleted directories are now reported even if checking is limited to
programs.
Version: 1.12b (Released March 17, 1992)
1) Confusing text in some of the .DOC files corrected.
2) A warning message now appears before you write an auto-named report file
to a floppy which you are checking. The message reminds you to wait
until IM has finished processing before you insert a new diskette.
3) IM and SETUPIM are modified to understand the old halt on "None" option as
the new halt on "Serious problems". Version 1.12a reported "BAD HALT"
in this case.
4) High ASCII and low ASCII characters found in directory names are now
displayed as a "?". This eliminates possible garbage on the screen.
5) In addition to taking you back to your starting disk, IM now also brings
you back to your initial directory when you exit.
Version: 1.12a (Released March 13, 1992)
1) For people who want to run totally unattended or who don't want to have
to hit a key to acknowledge serious problems, we have added the /NE
(Nonstop except for Emergencies) command line parameter. IM will pause
only when it absolutely must, to avoid loss of critical information or to
avoid spreading a virus (in the case of a virus detected in memory).
This allows you to run IM unattended even when files won't open,
can't be read or contain viruses. You can also use the halt menu to
temporarily or permanently select this option.
2) Over 50 new viruses are recognized by name including Anto, Beware,
Crazy Imp, Hafenstrasse, Keyboard bug, Screamer Tiny Ghost, Vindicator
Kuzmitch and Zherkov.
3) IM does additional consistency checking between the files themselves and
their associated directory entries. This allows detection of missing
or incorrectly chained clusters even if IM has never been used on the disk.
4) The programs SETUPIM.EXE and IM.EXE are now further compressed for use on
smaller disks.
5) Integrity Master will now automatically close the report file after it
finishes a check or initialize on a disk. This prevents a potential
problem caused when IM writes the report file to a floppy which is then
removed from the drive and replaced with anther floppy. We've had reports
of damaged report files due to the switch of diskettes with the open
report files.
6) We cut the delays for the statistics summary screen and the termination
report in no halt mode with batch commands (eg. /CE /CR)(/N) to wait for
only 10 seconds.
Version: 1.11a (Released Feb 17, 1992)
1)Over 100 new viruses are recognized by name including Big Joke,
Brainy, Micro elephant, Boojum, a new version of Dir-2, Little
Brother, Lower Case, Hitchcock, Hydra series of viruses, Jihuu, Dr. Q,
Haifa, Maltese Amoeba (AKA Irish), the MPS-OPC series of viruses,
Parity, PC-Flu-2, Pregnant.!!!,, seventh son, and SVC 6. Numerous
existing virus recognition patterns have been updated including the
pattern for the Sentinel virus. This virus appears to have been
written in Turbo Pascal and produced a false indication in a
shareware financial program.
2)A summary display has been added to summarize the results of checking
in detail. This appears on the display and on the report file or
printer after any file checking. Since it contains a time and date
stamp, you can now use the report file as a chronological log of all
changes on your PC even if you have it going to the printer.
3)The explanation of possible false alarms now only appears with the
first file virus, not with subsequently detected viruses.
4)The false alarm explanation is now written (once) to the report file for
users who run unattended.
5)Fix of problem which occurred when the screen report was turned off and
resulted in added files not being included on the report file.
6)Any change to the command interpreter is now categorized as suspicious.
7)If a files is found to be infected with a known virus, the existing
integrity data will be retained for that file; This makes it easier
to verify that everything is OK, when the file is deleted and restored.
8)Improved recovery on hardware problems with integrity data files
themselves.
Versions 1.03a/b/c and 1.10a/b were limited release beta versions.
These versions are not for public use.
Version: 1.02b (released 12/18/91)
Quick reissue of 1.02a. Version 1.02a was missing the VTEXT.DOC file.
Version 1.02a: (released 12/16/91)
1)The documentation in the I-M.DOC (formerly IM.DOC) file has been
significantly improved. Sections have been completely rewritten and
a complete index is now included.
2)Forty-three new viruses are recognized by name and characteristic
(VTEXT.DOC contains the complete list). Most best known among these
viruses are: Black Wizard, Fake-VirX, Gotcha, Iron Maiden, Murphy
Brothers, PC-Flu, Plovdiv, SVC 5.0, and Words (2 variants).
2)The procedure for removing cluster viruses (DIR-2) improved.
3)We've corrected the list of files generated in IMPROC.TXT by SETUPIM.
Several typos in the file descriptions were corrected and SAMPVIR.BIN
is removed as a separate file, since it is not created until
GENVIR.EXE is run.
4)The file name of the documentation file (IM.DOC) has been changed to
I-M.DOC. Also the recommended file name for BBS posting has been changed
to I-M102. This has been done to prevent to many files from being copied
when users try to copy IM*.* onto a 360K floppy.
5)Since IMSETUP.EXE will often not fit on a 360K bootable floppy along
with IM.EXE, we have renamed it to SETUPIM.EXE. This allows you to
copy all vital files for a bootable floppy with a single "COPY IM*.*"
command. This copy was failing because unnecessary files including
IMSETUP.EXE were being copied to diskette.
6)We corrected the failure of V1.01 to automatically change directories
when multiple directory names of the form 12345678.ABC were
encountered.
7) The file viewing program ("IMview") is now our own 1K optimized
assembler rather than the prior 3rd party written program.
Version 1.01A:
First general release (non-beta test) version of IM mailed world-wide
out via the November 1991 Association of Shareware Professionals
(ASP) mailing. (Mailed ~11-15-91).
Versions prior to 1.01a were beta versions and should no longer be used.
