Dear Shareware vendor or Sysop,
Thanks for looking at my new offering DMPLAS. I think you'll find it a
useful and popular utility. It has been thoroughly beta tested by people
in 6 different states but, if you find any problems with it please give me
a call at 317-856-6052. Thanks.
This letter is just a greeting and short description to ease your job
(yep, I know how that goes <grin>). It does not need to be passed on
(included when you distribute DMPLAS).
By the way, DMPLAS and Software Co-op do not have any connection at all
with Public Brand Software. Since selling PBS, I have started Software
Co-op to get back into the shareware authoring field.
Thanks, in advance, for distributing DMPLAS and for supporting shareware.

DMPLAS Version 1.0
Release date: August 15, 1991
Description:
------------
If you've installed a fast, quiet LaserJet compatible printer you know of
its advantages but you've probably been disappointed that some of your
favorite programs will not print properly as they did on your dot matrix
printer. DMPLAS fixes this problem.
DMPLAS is a translator for IBM/Epson FX control sequences - it changes
them into HP LaserJet (PCL) control sequences.
Virtually all programs have a setting for the IBM Graphics printer or the
Epson FX (they are the same with the exception of the IBM Graphics
printer's ability to print the IBM line drawing character set where the
Epson prints italic characters). Just load DMPLAS and use either setting
on your favorite programs. No need to switch software.
This evaluation version is full and complete; it contains no drop-dead
date or other underhanded tricks to promote registrations.
Features that make DMPLAS stand out are:
- Translates both text and graphics. Works with GRAPHICS.COM and all
programs which output to the IBM Graphics printer or Epson FX standard.
Automatically handles the full range of graphics print densities.
- Runs in the background as a TSR taking only 6k of memory. Can be turned
off temporarily bypassed or deactivated by running DMPLAS again with the
proper parameter.
- Can be used as a normal DOS program to print files formatted for
IBM/Epson FX printers.
- Includes optional LaserJet soft fonts to better emulate IBM/Epson fonts
with full 300dpi laser printer quality. An optional download program is
also included. See DMPLASFN.ZIP
Short descriptions suitable for use on BBSs follow:
