  1. 20     Editing Options
  2.  
  3.        To edit a data file with an editor select option A.  The editor
  4.   used is set within Config.  The default editor is PED.EXE which is
  5.   distributed with Equator.  You may use any other editor of your
  6.   choosing provided it, fits in memory, uses ascii files, and that it
  7.   accepts the name of the data file on the command line.
  8.  
  9.        When editing, the internal data file is converted to an ascii file,
  10.   edited, and then converted back to an internal format.  The name of
  11.   the ascii file used is 'tmp.dat'.  So if your editor does not accept a
  12.   filename on the command line, you may load this file directly.

  14.        To edit the variable and constant definition files, select options
  15.   B and C respectively.  Make sure that the field widths in these files
  16.   are kept at their original widths.

  18.        To edit any file select option D which simply invokes your editor
  19.   with no arguments on the command line.

  21.        Return to the main menu via ESC or option E.
