  17. For  many  years  it was assumed
  18. that  the  very  small  ring  of
  19. muscle material holding the lens
  20. of  the  eye  in  place was also
  21. responsible  for  focusing   the
  22. eye.  We were quite impressed by
  23. the  strength  of  such  a small
  24. muscle - to be able  to  stretch
