  11.           PC-ACCOUNT is a personal accounting system with data base
  12.      retrieval capabilities.  With it, you can discard your checkbook
  13.      ledger.  Its most unique feature is its ability to print on any
  14.      personal check.
  15.      
  16.           Personal checks are usually not designed for the normal line
  17.      spacing of 6 lines per inch.  This program utilizes the variable line
  18.      spacing of most printers to achieve the efficiency and accuracy of
  19.      having your computer print on your checks.  A utility lets you create
  20.      formats for fifteen different checking accounts.  The check is
  21.      printed as soon as the transaction is completed.  The amount is
  22.      printed on the check in words.

  24.           A directory is maintained of check payees and memo data to be
  25.      printed on the check, such as its purpose or your account number with
  26.      the payee.  Payees are selected by number, and the name and memo are
  27.      automatically transferred to the check.

  29.           Searches can be made for all transactions against an account,
  30.      for a user defined code, for an amount, for a text string within the
  31.      comment, or for a check number.  These searches can be made through
  32.      any selected consecutive months, so a full years transactions in a
  33.      specific category can be retrieved at tax time.

  35.           Recurring transactions such as loan payments and cash
  36.      distributions to accounts can be saved, edited and invoked on command
  37.      for auto entry.  There is a routine that can reconcile your bank
  38.      statement swiftly.  Another routine double checks the line by line
  39.      totals in your checkbook.

  41.           This system makes full use of the features of the IBM PC.  All
  42.      10 function keys are used.  The display color can be changed and the
  43.      color parameters saved.  Listings of accounts and transactions can be
  44.      output to the screen, to the printer, to a disk text file, or to a
  45.      file that can be imported by Lotus 1-2-3.

  47.           This software works on the IBM PC/XT/AT with 256K of free
  48.      memory and at least 1 double sided disk drive.  It runs under PC DOS
  49.      2.0 and later versions.

  62.         PC-ACCOUNT is copyrighted and distributed as SHAREWARE.  The
  63.      conditions for distribution are:

  65.                All three files must be distributed together:
  66.      
  67.                           PCACT220.ARC,
  68.                           PCDOC220.ARC, and
  69.                           PCACT220.TXT.
  70.      
  71.                They must not be modified in any way.
  72.                You may not charge more than $10.

  74.           The files, PCACT220.ARC and PCDOC220.ARC, must be processed with
  75.      an ARC utility such as ARCE.COM.  The 38 files extracted from
  76.      PCACT220.ARC use about 310K of floppy disk space.  The 5 text files
  77.      extracted from PCDOC220.ARC use about 210K.  Therefore, you will need
  78.      one formatted disk for the output from each .ARC file.  The disk with
  79.      the 38 files will be referred to in the documentation as the
  80.      DISTRIBUTION disk.

  83.                 INSTRUCTIONS TO UN-ARC THE PC-ACCOUNT .ARC FILES

  86.             1.  Insert the disk with the PC-ACCOUNT .ARC files into
  87.                 drive A:

  89.             2.  Copy ARCE.COM to the disk in drive A:
  90.      
  91.             3.  Insert a blank, formatted disk in drive B:
  92.      
  93.             4.  Make B: the default drive.
  94.      
  95.             5.  Enter the command:

  99.             6.  Insert another blank, formatted disk in drive B:

  108.           For a Quick Start without printing or reading the documentation,
  109.      make the disk with the 37 files the default disk, and enter the
  110.      command:

  114.      and you will receive instructions on how to prepare the tutorial disk
  115.      and to initialize a working disk.

  122.                     INSTRUCTIONS TO PRINT THE DOCUMENTATION

  125.           Before printing the documentation, set the printer print head at
  126.      the second or third line from the top of the page, then turn the
  127.      printer on.  You will need 81 pages.  To print all five documentation
  128.      files at once, use the command:
  129.      
  130.                              COPY  PART?  PRN
  131.      
  132.           To print one file at a time, substitute the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4,
  133.      5 one at a time for the question mark in the above command.  These
  134.      five files are pure ASCII files with form feeds.  You may also
  135.      display them with the TYPE command.  They are sized to print properly
  136.      on the LaserJet.

  138.           Print the three information files that are on the distribution
  139.      disk with the commands:

  141.                              COPY  READ.ME       PRN
  142.                              COPY  READ.ME2      PRN
  143.                              COPY  HOW2REGI.STR  PRN
