  3. Dear Jeff,
  4. Here's Barbara's source code for LFA.COM uploaded the other night to
  5. HamNet DL10.  I hope the transfer worked right.

  7. This first version is almost complete - she still has to add the code
  8. to take care of the most recent additions to LOG.TNC, such as the
  9. CxxxxxxxxxxI, XxxxxxxxxxxQ, CxxxxxxxxxxE and XxxxxxxxxxxA events. I
  10. haven't yet checked Version 2.03 for any newer stuff in the log file.
  11. But the additional stuff, whatever it is, should be trivial.

  13. We've tested the code on real logs made by the program, with file sizes
  14. in excess of 53K.  While the typical CP/M PBBS SysOp will usually purge
  15. his LOG.TNC file frequently because of limited disk space, when running
  16. your code on a hard-drive-based machine, the natural temptation is to
  17. allow LOG.TNC to grow and grow.  In my opinion, it is interesting to
  18. maintain a log for an entire month in one lump, for evaluation. I'm sure
  19. each SysOp will have his/her own ideas, but it is nice to be able to
  20. derive a report from very large logs without having to wait for two hours.
  21. I also hate the programs that leave you with a dead screen for seven or eight
  22. minutes while the machine is doing its thing - sinking feelins like, "Is it
  23. hung?"
