<< Questor v1.5 >>
Copyright (c) 1990 Random Tree Software, Inc. Duluth, MN
The shareware distribution disk is cramped, so there isn't much room
for a user manual. Don't worry. We don't think good software should
even require much of a manual. Questor has help screens that apply to
each phase of Questor usage you are at- so use them (press [F1]).
Basic steps to using Questor include:
1. Copy the datafiles MOVIES.DB and MOVIES.NDX to a separate
disk, otherwise you will have room on the program disk
to add only about 5 movies. You can also copy all the
disk files to a hard drive if you have one, or to a
3-1/2" disk.
2. From the FILE pull down menu, "Open a videfile for use"
and type in the pathname of the file MOVIES. It will either
be just "movies" if you didn't transfer the datafiles, or
else it will be "b:movies" or "c:movies".
3. From the EDIT pull down menu, select "Edit information"
or "Add information" depending on what you want to do.
4. From the FILE pull down menu, select "Artificial Intelligence
Search" if you with to request searchs for, example,
Find all R rated action movies.
Data is usually saved automatically, and in alphabetical order, even
when you make changes while in Edit Mode. When adding new data, i.e.
during Add Mode, you will need to press [Ctrl][Enter] to save the
screen information.
Look at the bottom of the screens on the computer when using Questor,
and use the [F1] activated help boxes. This should be about all you
will need to get going.
See the REGISTRATION option of the main menu for information and
benefits of registration, including a 40-page user manual, data
disk library of over 500 movies and associated information, enhanced
request interpreter, etc.
Please write to us with any suggestions or complaints. We WANT to
hear from you very much.
