NOTE:
The "SuperBox" menu system is not effective unless you
have a hard drive AND one or more of the "Brandon's Lunchbox"
eductional games. All your "Lunchbox" series programs should
be in the same subdirectory as the "SuperBox" program.
Programs in the "Brandon's Lunchbox" series require an
IBM PC or true compatable with color graphics capability.
The programs all use CGA graphics.

The SuperBox
My children spend a lot of time playing their Lunchbox
series educational games. Once they load a "box", they'll
bounce back and forth between the different games for hours.
Of course, when they're ready to switch to a new "box", I
have to enter proper commands to load in the new box.
The kids are pretty good at typing "A", "B", "C", or "D".
They're not so good at switching subdirectories or typing in
"BOATBOX", "FLASHBOX", etc.
I figured it would be nice to create one master
"Superbox" that would execute each of the different lunchbox
modules. I realized it would be even nicer if this
"SuperBox" were intelligent -- if it would check to see
which lunchbox modules were available. It would then only
offer the available modules as choices.
That's what you have now. The SuperBox checks to
see which lunchbox modules you have -- either "Lunchbox",
"BoatBox", "Flashbox", or "USABox" -- and execute them from
a custom-built menu.
If you have only Lunchbox, then your choices A through F
will execute the six Lunchbox modules. If you have Lunchbox
and BoatBox, the choices will be A through J. If you have
all four lunchboxes (with 18 total modules), your choices
will be A through R.
How to use the SuperBox
SuperBox is only effective if you have a hard drive.
First, copy all of your Lunchbox-series programs to the
same subdirectory on your hard drive. If you're not up on
subdirectories, check your DOS manual. You can copy
everything to the root directory if you wish -- and it will
work, too -- but you'll probably run into housekeeping
troubles somewhere down the road.
Next, copy the SuperBox program (SUPERBOX.EXE) to this
lunchbox subdirectory.
At the DOS prompt, type SUPERBOX and press the Enter key.
"SuperBox" will take it from there!
(NOTE: This version of the Lunchbox is
customized to display a child's name. Simply
supply the child's name as a parameter. For
example, "SUPERBOX MARY" or "SUPERBOX ALEX".)
You'll see:
S U P E R B O X
-------
: :
+------------------------+
: :
: B R A N D O N ' S :
: :
: L U N C H B O X :
: :
+------------------------+
where "x x x x x ..." is a series of alphabetic
characters. This series will range from A through R,
depending on how many of the four "Brandon's Lunchbox"
products you have installed in this subdirectory.
If SuperBox cannot find any products, it displays an
"OOPS" termination message. If you think you shouldn't see
this message, then please check that your Lunchbox
products are in the same subdirectory as Superbox. Also
make sure you haven't changed any of the names.
To quit the Lunchbox and return to DOS, press a "+" or the
Escape key.
Shareware
This Lunchbox is part of a shareware series of educational
programs designed for 3 to 7 year olds. Commercial packages
tend to ignore this age group.
If you've found this program useful, then you can register
your copy for $7.50. However, for $10.00, I'll send you a
copy of the most current version PLUS a printed, bound manual.
Also, since SUPERBOX is most effective when you have all the
"Lunchbox" products, you can finish off your collection by
letting me know which "boxes" you need (LUNCHBOX, BOATBOX,
FLASHBOX, or USABOX) for $10.00 per box. You'll receive current
copies of each "box" PLUS a printed, bound manual.
Please send payments to:

A registration form -- REGISTER.DOC -- is included for
your convenience.
In any case, I'd like to hear your comments -- including any
ideas you may have for other educational programs you'd like
to see.
