  13. If any of these files are missing contact EmmaSoft immediately.

  15. Make a copy of this disk before installing DARN!.  For safety's sake 
  16. make sure you always use a copy, not the original disk.

  26. double check that you are calling DARN! from the same directory it is in.  
  27. For example, if it is in the c:\emma directory type cd\emma and THEN type:
  28.                            "ancal <Enter>".  
  29. If you are in some other directory DARN! won't load, even if that directory 
  30. is in your DOS path.

  32. Before calling jot down the type of computer you are using, and the type of
  33. graphics adaptor card installed in your system.
  34.  
  35. If you would prefer to write us we will answer your questions the best we
  36. can.  Please remember that mail assistance takes time.  We will answer the 
  37. mail as fast as possible, but we are a small company with limited resources, 
  38. so your patience is greatly appreciated.

  64. Common problems:
  65.  
  66. DARN! won't load:   
  67.  
  68.               Did you set the environment to tell DARN! where it's
  69. files are?  If you keep DARN! in the \DOS directory on drive C: type
  70. SET ANCAL=C:\DOS into your autoexec.bat file (or at the DOS prompt).

  72.               Is the directory that DARN! is in part of your DOS path?
  73. Use the DOS PATH command to put it there.
  74.  
  75.               If the ANCAL environmental variable is not set, did you
  76. call DARN! from the directory it is in?  Use the DOS CD command to get
  77. there.

  79. There were too many events for one screen, and I want to see the first screen-
  80. full again:
  81.               Press <F9> to see your list again.

  85. More Common problems:

  87. DARN! won't find a name.  I know it's in there:   
  88.  
  89.               DARN's search is case sensative.  Try entering the name
  90. again with an uppercase first letter.  Or enter a few of the letters
  91. from the middle of the name in lower case.

  93. DARN! doesn't show the year of my annual office party:

  95.               DARN! only shows the year of birthdays and anniversaries.

  106. Limits:
  107.               300 events in one events file (with the .drn extension)
  108.               5 characters in a date (with the third being a '/')
  109.               25 characters in a name
  110.               15 characters in an event
  111.

  113. How Does DARN! handle leap year?  If you have an event listed for leap year it
  114. will appear like any other event a week before the 29th.  If there is no 29th
  115. this February it will not appear in the today section.  You can always use
  116. <Alt><d> to view February 29th.
