  7.      o    This is the fourth release of CCOLOR.  It has been in use on PLINK,
  8.     the SOURCE, GEnie, and CIS for several years now.

  10.      o    Please download COM-AND version 2.8 for use with this program.    COM-
  11.     AND versions previous to 2.8 do not support this version's backscreen.

  79. 1)    Set your current subdirectory to the subdirectory where you wish
  80.     to install CCOLOR... where you've already installed version 1.1
  81.     (if you have it)... where you've installed COM-AND (if you have).

  83. 2)    Dearc the distribution file.  Read the doc.

  85. 3)    Load CCOLOR 'piggyback' (for installation purposes), i.e.:

  90.        .. Remember to save the new settings.

  92.        .. Choose the COM port you use (1/2/3/4).

  110. o    This version of CCOLOR has been released to adapt to COM-AND 2.8's
  111.     new backscreen function.  It is NOT compatible with any previous
  112.     version of COM-AND.  It IS faster and more flexible in simple back-
  113.     screen operations than the previous backscreen.

  115.     Previous versions of CCOLOR allowed 'highlighting' of text received
  116.     prior to the invocation of CCOLOR, in the backscreen.  This
  117.     capability has been removed as a part of the change to the backscreen
  118.     function.

  130.     COM-AND version 2.8 is a fully functional communications program,
  131.     designed to support integrated 'accessory' programs such as CCOLOR.
  132.

  134.     COM-AND supports multiple dialing directories, multiple macro defin-
  135.     ition files, a powerful script language, Windowed XMODEM, XMODEM,
  136.     YMODEM (BBS style), Batch-YMODEM, ZMODEM, CIS-B, CIS Quick-B, KERMIT,
  137.     and Super KERMIT.

  140.     COM-AND is being distributed (its ninth release) as CA28-1.ZIP,
  141.     CA28-2.ZIP, CA28-3.ZIP and CA28-4.ZIP.    COM-AND may be used on either
  142.     MDA, CGA, EGA or Hercules adapters.

  146. Related release; PC-VCO:

  149.     PC-VCO is Visual Conferencing for the IBM PC.  It is completely
  150.     compatible with all three flavors of MacIntosh VCO/VMCO.  It has
  151.     been in use for more than a year by several groups of people.  On
  152.     GEnie, the IBM RT has a regularly scheduled VCO conference every
  153.     Wednesday at 9PM Eastern Standard Time.

  156.     The concept of VCO is that each conference attendee draws a set of
  157.     16 (or 18) ICONs, and posts them publicly.  Other attendees down-
  158.     load the ICONs (called face files), and add them to their own lib-
  159.     rary of faces.    8 (or 9) expressions (happy, sad, etc) are supported.
  160.     When someone speaks in a VCO conference, the appropriate ICON is
  161.     displayed on all PC-VCO screens.  People who've not uploaded face
  162.     files are depicted as Charlie Brown, Don Martin, or OPUS.

  165.     PC-VCO interfaces to a public domain text-to-speech synthesizer.
  166.     The quality is less than might be desired, but its a start!

  169.     PC-VCO is being distributed (its seventh release) as PC-VCO22.ZIP.

  179.     CBRIDGE is Conference Bridge; four people can play bridge over
  180.     PLINK's PARTY, CIS CB, etc.  CBRIDGE deals cards, displays hands,
  181.     displays (and protects) the bidding, and monitors game play.
  182.     Bidding can be reviewed at any time, as can game play.

  185.     Version 1.1 is released as a beta.  Beta testing has been completed,
  186.     however it may be 'rough' in spots...  I am looking for comments,
  187.     criticisms and thoughts from those interested in on-line interactive
  188.     gaming.

  191.     CBRIDGE is being distributed (its second release) as CBRIDG11.ZIP.

  200.     CCHESS is Conference Chess; two people can play chess over PLINK's
  201.     PARTY, CIS CB, etc.  CCHESS provides a graphics depiction of a chess
  202.     board, and a log of the last few moves.  Game play can be performed
  203.     entirely with a mouse (if you desire; not necessary).  Games may be
  204.     saved, and restored later for continuation.

  207.     Version 1.2 is a production release.  It has been in use on several
  208.     systems for some time now.  I am still looking for comments, criti-
  209.     cisms and thoughts from those interested in on-line gaming.
