CAPBUD Demo Program (50 dollars)
(Write to: Computer Handholders, P.O. Box 59, Arcola PA 19420)
This Demo Can Handle Only a 15 Line WorkSheet. FILES SAVE is Disabled.
(Actual Program Handles 256 Lines in a Worksheet.)
Hit a Function Key F1-F10, the First Letter of the Command or a Number 1-10
The Esc key will also allow you to back out of a menu or command.
To Start Use the FILES LOAD or FILES NEWSHT commands.
Files - Load a worksheet into CAPBUD. MID.WS is a sample on this disk.
NewLn - Add a New Line to the Worksheet.
DelLn - Delete a Line from the Worksheet.
Solve - Solve Worksheet for NPV and NPV Profile.
Edit - Edit a Single Line. Also Line MOVE and Line COPY.
Rate - Global Changes of Tax Rates and the Interest (Discount) Rate.
Print - Print the Worksheet. PgUp PgDn T B to View Worksheet.
Quit (Also F10, Q, Esc) Program. T for Top B for Bottom of Worksheet.
Files Menu Help Screen
Load - Loads Worksheet Into CAPBUD. MID.WS is sample worksheet on Disk.
Save - Saves Worksheets onto disk. Disabled on demo disk.
WSDir - Currently Disabled.
NewSheet - Initiates NEW Worksheet
DskMgr - Manages disk files & directories. Currently separate program.
ChgDskDrv - Changes the Active (or default) Disk Drive.
Esc - Quit
New Line Help Screen
This Option Allows You to Add a New Line of Accounting Information to a
Worksheet.
The Default is a New Line at the End of the WorkSheet.
Use F3 to Enter a New Line Where You Desire.
New WorkSheet Help Screen
Enter Ordinary Tax Rate. This is your marginal income tax rate on ordinary
income including both cash flows and expenses and noncash expenses.
(Make Sure You Enter a Per Cent Number, i.e. 40 is 40%
Enter Capital Gains Tax Rate - This is the marginal tax rate for cash flows
that are eligible for long term capital gains treatment.
Enter the Interest Rate - This is the interest rate that you will use to
calculate NPV and discounted benefit/cost ratio.
Enter the DOS file name for this worksheet that will be used when you SAVE it.
Enter a Descriptive Title for the Worksheet to help identify it.
F2 - This key allows you to "back up" and change your answers to previous
questions. Unfortunately you will have start from that point.
WorkSheet SOLVE Help Screen
This Option Solves for NPV, Profitability Index, and Payback. In addition,
You can solve for:
IRR - The internal rate of return of the project.
NPV Profile - The NPV for the project for 14 different discount rates
ListCashFlows - Lists the Cash Flows for the project BY PERIOD.
The NPV Graph Option is Not Currently Available Within CAPBUD. Run the NPV
GRAPH Option and it Creates a File, GRAPH on your disk. Exit CAPBUD and run
the NPVGRF program by Typing: NPVGRF
This Program Will Display Your Graph. Make Sure You Have Created the GRAPH
From Within the CAPBUD program by running the NPV Profile Graph Option.
EDIT Worksheet Help Screen
Enter Line Number on the Worksheet that you wish to EDIT (Make Changes)
F3 - Line MOVE - Moves a Worksheet line from one location to another.
F4 - Line COPY - Makes a Copy of a Worksheet Line and Places it in your
desired location.
This Option Changes ONLY ONE LINE in the WorkSheet.
WorkSheet Rates Help Screen
This Option Allows You to Make GLOBAL Changes in the Tax Rates or the
Interest Rate. Resolving using the SOLVE option allows you to see
how sensitive your project is to different tax and interest rates.
3 - Tax Rates - Changes the Ordinary and Capital Gains Tax Rate for ALL
Lines in the Worksheet.
4 - Interest Rate - Changes the Discount Rate for ALL Lines in the Worksheet.
(To Change the Tax or Interest Rate for a Single Line, Use the EDIT Option.
PRINT WorkSheet Help Screen
This option allows you to print out your worksheet on your printer. The
worksheet is only 80 columns wide so special condensed characters are
not needed. This option queries your for:
How Many Lines Per Page?
Should the Printer be Stopped at end of Each Page to Allow Loading Paper?
Do You Want the Worksheet Lines to be part of the Printout?
Should an Initial Form Feed be sent to the Printer?
