  7. 1.   I believe that my undergraduate education has equipped me with a 
  8. firm base of technical and analytical skills in the areas of computer 
  9. applications and economics, supplemented by additional concerns for 
  10. business constraints, policies and modes of communication.  
  11. Thankfully, I've also had the opportunity to utilize these theoretical 
  12. skills in "real" environments, where further insight and experience 
  13. were gained as a result of time and effort expended.  The combination 
  14. of these instructive forces has helped me to achieve a clear 
  15. conception of the type of career which requires my form of expertise 
  16. and which I find to be stimulating and motivational.

  18.      Computer systems analysis provides a means for applying problem 
  19. solving techniques to various thought-provoking situations.  In 
  20. particular, the analysis of the overall organizational scheme and 
  21. process interrelationships interests me to a much greater extent than 
  22. standardized, highly structured tasks.  By acting as a consultant, I'm 
  23. determined to prove my capabilities through increased efficiency in 
  24. operations, clearly documented procedures and the ease with which 
  25. personnel adapt to changes caused by technological advancement.  I aim 
  26. to eventually move into a managerial capacity where my concerns and 
  27. responsibilities will take on an internal orientation and allow me to 
  28. enter the areas of long-range corporate planning and policy making.

  30.      An essential ingredient in the achievement of these aspirations 
  31. is confidence.  I feel that Tuck's finely structured M.B.A. curriculum 
  32. will provide me with more than just exposure to decision making tools 
  33. and case experiences.  It should enhance my ability to think about 
  34. individual situations, deal with others and develop practical 
  35. methodologies.  Self-awareness of these abilities can be directly 
  36. translated into confidence in a job position.

  38.      I do not hold the common view of the M.B.A. as a primary 
  39. mechanism to change jobs; rather, I consider the experience to be an 
  40. investment through which a career or position may be expanded.  For 
  41. this reason, I admire Tuck's balanced variety of courses and de-
  42. emphasis on specialization.  My research has also revealed a close 
  43. knit, altruistic student body.  Such an environment has special appeal 
  44. for me since I am presently involved in undergraduate activities that 
  45. strive for unity amongst students, faculty, administrators and alumni.

  52.      I have explored the possibility of working in the field of 
  53. computer applications prior to applying to an M.B.A. program.  
  54. Additional business and technical experience would certainly be 
  55. insightful and carry potential for relevant accomplishments and self-
  56. satisfaction.  However, I feel that graduate education presents the 
  57. most desirable and strategic path for me to follow at this time.  My 
  58. reasoning behind this philosophy is that I feel that I have 
  59. accumulated a significant amount of exposure to business operations 
  60. and have acquired high quality knowledge and experience.  Rather than 
  61. accepting a position with the intentions of leaving at some future 
  62. date, I wish to continue in the educational framework until I am best 
  63. prepared to pursue my ultimate career aspirations.
