  7. If you are using the initial Web-download version of Select
  8. (RISC OS 4.24), you will need to copy the supplied !ExtnSetup
  9. application into !Boot.RO420Hook.Res.Configure, and then copy
  10. !SFXSetup into the newly-installed !ExtnSetup.
  11.  
  12. !ExtnSetup (Extensions Setup) is a Configure group to house
  13. operating system extensions. Configure groups are only
  14. supported in RISC OS Select (RISC OS 4.2 and later), ExtnSetup
  15. should be ignored by users of RISC OS 4.0x and RISC OS 5.

  17. If your copy of Configure already has an Extensions group
  18. within it, you can ignore the copy here.

  21. RISC OS 4, RISC OS 4S and RISC OS 5 directories
  22. -----------------------------------------------

  24. The versions of Configure supplied with RISC OS 4.0x, RISC OS
  25. Select and RISC OS 5 all have different sprite styles for the
  26. plug-ins. RISC OS 4.0 uses jigsaw-puzzle icons; RISC OS Select
  27. uses more refined-looking jigsaw-puzzle icons (with elongated
  28. lugs); RISC OS 5 uses icons without jigsaw puzzle borders.

  30. Unfortunately, there is no way to make a Configure plug-in
  31. adapt its Configure icon for the version of Configure
  32. currently in use. As supplied, SFXSetup has RISC OS 5-style
  33. icons preinstalled.
  34.  
  35. So, to make SFXSetup match the appearance of your other
  36. plug-ins, as a final step you can install appropriate icons
  37. for your version of RISC OS. The Extras directory contains
  38. "RISC OS 4", "RISC OS 4S" (i.e. RISC OS Select: 4.2 or later
  39. versions) and "RISC OS 5" folders. Open the folder relating
  40. to the OS installed on your machine and drag the copy of
  41. SFXSetup that you find there over the copy that you have
  42. already installed on your own hard disc. This will update the
  43. sprites inside it to match your system.

  45. (The RISC OS 5 directory is supplied for completeness: the
  46. sprites in its copy of SFXSetup are identical to those stored
  47. in the 'main' copy.)
  48.
