  7. OpenUI is an advanced User Interface Management System (UIMS) for developing
  8. and running Client Server and stand-alone business applications.  User
  9. Interfaces (UIs) developed in OpenUI are portable across the major graphical
  10. windowing systems, networks, and character based terminals.  Its
  11. point-and-click WYSIWYG design tool allows rapid creation of a UI which
  12. immediately performs across different display devices, with appearance and
  13. behavior that is native to each standard environment.  Screens prototyped
  14. interactively with end-users can be rolled directly into the final application
  15. without wasteful redevelopment.  Maintenance is also simplified because OpenUI
  16. communicates with application code via a messaging system.  This "arm's
  17. length" separation allows the user interface developed in OpenUI to be
  18. significantly changed without altering the application code.  This "arm's
  19. length" separation also limits LAN traffic between the user interface and the
  20. application.
