  7. SAM:Control is an easy-to-use menu interface for routine system
  8. administrative functions, for managing users, groups, files, directories, and
  9. devices.  SAM:Control handles, in menu format, many of the routine UNIX
  10. administrative "chores" that are traditionally done at the command-line level.
  11. For users in a heterogeneous environment, SAM:Control is ideal, since it has a
  12. common look and feel across platforms.  With the optional toolkit, users can
  13. customize SCH:SAM menus and incorporate their own applications and routines.

  15. SAM:Control is a member of the SCH:SAM suite; a set of platform-independent
  16. UNIX system management tools, SCH:SAM is available for both character and X
  17. window (motif) terminals.  SAM:Control is available as an individual component
  18. or as part of the bundled SCH:SAM suite.
